faith points

You get them from building your list and units dying and there is no upper limit, save from the FOC. Certain characters/models are worth a certain amount so an army list will always start with a set amount. For the record it's normally 1 from a Veteran Sister Superior but HQ choices can provide more (Canoness, St Celestine). Celestians and Seraphim always count as faithful, which is a requirement to using faith points.

You can gain them from martyrdom when a faithful unit (unit with a faithful character in, eg VSS) dies, or in the case of a normally unfaithful unit when the character dies (eg Telion snipes the VSS). A faith point is expended on every attempt (even if unsuccessful), and Celestine has her own special rule where you lose a random number of FPs on her first death - if the total goes too low you can't even generate more FPs from martyrdom!

Hope that helps, I recommend you give the WH codex a good read through to find out more or ask your nearest friendly Witch Hunter :P

The amount of faith points depends on the amount of faithful units. All units that have the special rule faithful give the army one faith point (except the canoness who gives two points instead of one). The only way to gain faith points during a battle is if a faithful character is slain or a faithful unit loses its last member you will gain amount of faith points equal to the original amount contributed by the character/unit. There is no maximum amount of faith points you can have.

Hope that helped.
