Malatox
Actually I like this idea... The death-mask is supposed to terrify enemies into not being able to fight and our High-Chaplain wears one ;) Great idea, I like it! :D The only issue would be trying to separate it from the Sanguinary guard as much as possible, you could try a more pale style paintjob and it'd look great :( Malatox
shan vener
thanks but he will have wings because he has a death watch pad and a normal JP wont fit. but thanks for the reply.
Brother Corrus
Love the idea. Would make a great BA themed chaplain. Would like to see photos if you do it. I think a death mask would look great in bone colour.
Plague Angel
Idea so stolen. I've had a headless Reclusiarch for a while because I was looking for an appropriate and distinct plastic skull helm. Meanwhile, I have four death masks lying around I wasn't planning on using for anything. Suddenly excited. I'm going to get my modeling supplies out right now! EDIT: Well, I did it. Looks pretty decent, if a bit odd. I may have backed myself into a corner now, though: the one that fit the body best, and the one that looked the most "chaplain" like, was the one with the scroll over his head. But there is no way I will have a hand steady enough to actually write something on that scroll, not even with the finest tip pen I have. Oh well. Picture in a few days! Maalis
I think you could even paint the death mask golden, the chaplain on the cover of the 2ed codex has a golden death mask..
Plague Angel
That's my plan. Golden mask, black TDA. Right now, unpainted, he just looks kind of like a fat Sanguard.

Brother Corrus
I think that's confirmed pretty conclusively that the idea works.
captain sox
Great use of the Death Mask. I may just do the same type of conversion for my Reclusiarch! well done!
4RC71C FOXX
I have made 4 chaplain/ reclusiarchs using spare sang guard/ DC bits and death masks, I painted them black with a white death mask-to get it to look somewhat like a skull, I think they work pretty well :-) FOXX
