Tzen
I've always loved the Ultras, way before hating them was cool! Anyway, what's a Word Bearer force without some smurfs to fight! :P http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s172/tzen_spider/capt3.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s172/tzen_spider/tac210.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s172/tzen_spider/web1.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f121/sendstufftodan/smurfterm1.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f121/sendstufftodan/dread2.jpg

Tzen
Use the force Luke... Who called me? :P Ludovic () Edit: Nice looking Ultramarines you've got there. Care to share the recipe? Base coat dark blue building up to ultra blue then highlights with mixes of space wolf grey. Typical Workshop method. No fancy gimmiks. What I am proud about is this! The second tactical squad was a bunch of marines that were layed so much in red paint it was unreal. I challenged myself to make this lot: http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s172/tzen_spider/wip1.jpg Look better. I did a bit of a blog about it ages ago, but they turned out looking like the above pictures. These 5 minis for example turned out like this: http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s172/tzen_spider/nearly.jpg Thanks again for the nice comments guys! I'll either carry on with this army eventually, or I may make up a chapter of my own devising. I just love the ultras though, I don't know why either. I just do! worrywort
Very nice job ! There are fabulous ! Beginning by a red coat to finish in blue ? Wasn't easy no ?
Tzen
Nope, it wasn't easy! It was really trying to figure out how best to lay the paint on so i could keep as much detail as possible. I just had to paint most of it back on in some cases. I really enjoyed it, and whilst when you look at them very close you can see the flaws, they still photograph well. Which is more than can be said for my Word Bearers in many cases. And they are meant to be red :/

Look forward to seeing more of these. Keep up the great work. Cheers Widowmaker

fivepointedstar
you are a really good painter. just like said before they look like there straight off the front of the box. very crisp paint job. awesome work too on the restoration you did with the red marines. Brother Styphus
With such well painted minis, it makes me hate that I love anything UM. I'm amazed at how much detail you could get out of the Black Reach dread with just paint and perhaps a decal.
