Brother Crazywolf
Greetings brothers, Pull up a plate of roast elk and an ale, this is a fair bit interesting (at least to me). I recently played my mentor in the world of 40k (Brother Predacon) and his Ork army in a friendly 2000 points game. We have only played a few times and I am hopefully getting better. The last time I played his Orks I got my skull caved in. Bad tactics and I really did not have much that could hurt the buggers. I will have to get him to post his list or at least get it to me since I do not know that much about what he was playing that night. I do know that he was running at least 3 20+ mobs of boyz, a Deff Dread, a mob of bikers, 4 deff koptas, and a battlewagon. This time, was slightly different. We only got three turns in before having to call it a night due to time. But at least we kinda figured out that it was a draw, which was considerably different than the last time. What was different about this? Well, Njal bit him. I ended up using Jaws and some fire support from a predator to kill of his nob bikers. I also dinged him up with Lord of the Tempest, but I think that is was more of an annoyance and a hinderance. He spent a fair bit of time after that trying to kill Stormcaller. I was trying out different Rune Priest powers to see what could be done, but alas, I ran out of time. I guess I will have to continue to do my part for the Magos Biologos and continue to "experiment". :P I also introduced him to Mark of the Wolfen. Needless to say he will be watching out for rending attacks now. I think that there will be a rematch here sometime in the relatively near future. In the meantime, help a blood claw out and take a look at my list. I can tweak it depending on availability. Here is the list: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=219607 I am slowly developing a style of my own and trying to make smart purchases in regard to my army. For the time being I am fortunate to have the ability to raid Predacon's blood angels for proxies (I know, Heresy! :o ) Thanks to you all and have an ale on me! -Brother Crazywolf Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219611-introducing-an-ork-player-to-storm-of-fenris/ Share on other sites
Wolf Lord Hallbjorn
A very good friend of mine has a very large ork army and we play quite often. She hates, I mean absolutely HATES, murderous hurricane. Orks really need to get the charge to maximize their assault potential and when I throw down the hurricane to slow the advance, she often finds herself just out of assault range and well within rapid fire range of my wolves. Rune priests are well worth any amount of points you spend on them. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219611-introducing-an-ork-player-to-storm-of-fenris/#findComment-2620196 Share on other sites
nurglez
yes, murderous hurricane makes orks cry, especially if it is a big 30 ork squad :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219611-introducing-an-ork-player-to-storm-of-fenris/#findComment-2620206 Share on other sites
WulfenBrother
One little thing, nothing big but your Long Fangs can't have bolt pistols and another weapon...in fact no bolt pistol at all apart from the squad leader. Sorry for the confusion. That is supposed to read "pack leader with bolt pistol and chainsword". I will fix it when I get back to my pc. At work right now.
