Of artists and photography

I think this is the right place for this....

 

Bassically I'm in the market of picking up a new camera and a graphics tablet and I could do with some advice from feelow artists/photography buffs that may be lurking in these hallowed halls...

 

so,

 

Part One - camera;

 

I knew exactly which camera I wanted, but they've stopped making it....so now I'm stumped as to what to gof or and could do with adivce from all angles.

(if you were curious it was the Olympus AZ series)

 

So.

What its being used for;

Taking the occassion snaps of outings (nights/days out) and still images (WIP shots of my marines :o)

I know I want decent image quality

I know I want decent image stabalization

Rechargable would be sweet

And some decent image zoom wouldn't hurt

And I know I'm not rich....so I'm looking at £40-70 ($60-110) (no PEN's or SLR's)

 

I've been having a look;

Am I looking around the right area...suggestions/advice?

 

 

Part Two - Graphics Tablet;

 

I've always been intrested in digital art...it just seemed to suit the way I work...however, I have no experiance with Graphics tablets...

So I don't know where to start....

 

I suppose Widescreen fortmatting would be nice

USB

Compatible with vista

Erase, scroll and variable nibs on the stylus (which isn't battery powered)

But other than that... I have no idea

 

Again, not rich so around the same price bracket as the camera....probably a little more.

 

I've been looking at these;

Any tips/suggestions? Am I looking in the right direction?

And what software would you idealy use?
