Vassakov
Well, the obvious answer is try to find old Wulfen models, but thats a little tricky... I've seen a few nice conversions using the WHFB Ghouls limbs, with a bit of GS for fur and the grasping, taloned hands. Main torse and legs don't need any real work, though a few stylised markings in the paint job are a nice touch. The other, very nice looking pieces are the Maxmini Werewolf Heads. Nicely convey the idea, but most aren't too over the top. ORKILL
I use the old blue genestealer hands Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219685-motw-conversion-help/#findComment-2620964 Share on other sites
Sarapham
Note though that the Mark of the Wulfen is just that, a Mark, just some red paint across the face as GW does it.. not yet having become a Wulfen. So he does not have to be a werewolf even though that looks good too :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219685-motw-conversion-help/#findComment-2621053 Share on other sites
MaveriK
wolf brother Sarapham is correct! it's even written and shown in the codex, to represent the mark.. all you need is to paint on face tattoos. Just know that, there is a difference between having the mark and being a wulfen. That being said, nothing can stop you from using the 13th company wulfen models to represent your mark of the wulfen. If you wanna look for some great conversions, look up topics, blogs and or albums from both Wolf Lord Mjolnir, and Marshal Wilhelm. Mr. Danvers
Are you specifically wanting them to look like theyve changed? Personally the idea of a werewolf in power armour just doesn't sit right in my head. My guys are just equipped differently to the rest of the squad to make them stand out. My Grey Hunter MoTW guys have twin chainswords and my Blood Claw ones have a Chaos Maurauder horseman axe arm and a shield. They're pretty simple conversions and they stand out enough for me and I just wanted to emphasise theyre close combat power by not giving the model a gun. Andrew_Beck
Mine MotW models always have one-handed axe and red paint mark on face. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219685-motw-conversion-help/#findComment-2621615 Share on other sites
Twipp
I am thinking to use the normal SW body, one with fur but the problem with the MotW are the arms, i really want my model to hit with his arms instead any weapon. I already have BC models with twin chainsword. I also want these MotW guys running pose so i might buy those assault marines to get some speedy looking legs. (hopefully theres one plastic meltagun also so i can make a one more combi-melta) I really like these MotW models: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...;showentry=4991 Thank you for the link Vassakov,i totally missed it. Its gonna be bit pricey to buy ghouls, beastmen and assault marines just to create coupple Wolfen but oh well :D Those beastmen heads will look also nice because i have many SW regular guys without a helmet so those beastman heads really stand separated from all the rest. Ikken
I went for simplicity , i use the sw backpack with the wolf heads on it to indicate which model has MOTW , simple and easy for gaming purposes Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219685-motw-conversion-help/#findComment-2621910 Share on other sites
Simo429
I paint a black shoulder pad rather than a red one with the same mark in red that on a normal grey hunter will be black. You can buy beastmen arms, ghoul arms and ungor heads from eBay. Maybe at $2 for a dozen or so of each. $6 for the three items plus postage. Maybe you'll want Berzerker or Assault Marine legs, which are a bit more expensive. Torsos are about $2 for ten. So with patience, you 'should' be able to make six for $2-4 each, depending on your eBay-fu :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219685-motw-conversion-help/#findComment-2622006 Share on other sites
Tsavong Lah
I use the shoulder pad with the skull and the scroll of paper to represent the mark, and then paint "WULFEN" onto the scroll, which is pretty easy with a fine detail brush. My MotW also are bare-headed, and I paint their eyes blood red as an added touch. Hfran Morkai
I use the wolf helm painted red (to represent a bloodthirsty hunter) and tend to use two of the Templar chainswords with the chains (so they can throw them at the enemy and not actually lose them, though they don't use them XD) The Wolf helm also ties them into the Wolf Priests in my army, who wear the same helm but painted bleached bone. (My army is primarily helmeted due to just having completed an orbital drop, my guys aren't idiots XD Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219685-motw-conversion-help/#findComment-2624474 Share on other sites
Lord_Azoth
So I want a feral mood in my army my "quick" MOTW dudes are made of SW sprue + WHFB beastmen ones..like some werewolf...(I´ll make some photos once finished). I pretend to make some more of them in a more detailed way and making them look more lupine Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219685-motw-conversion-help/#findComment-2625890 Share on other sites
