Stewie
I'm posting this because of Rule Number Two: Be prepared to accept criticism on your ideas, and to revise your IA accordingly. Origins A recently founded chapter from the twenty sixth founding made officially ready for battle in 742M41 the Celestial Wasps were created from the gene-seed of Rogal Dorn and given veterans from the Imperial Fists. The chapter loosely adheres to the Codex Astartes. The chapter is organized into only seven companies. The specialty of the Celestial Wasps is defense but can accomplish any task that would be expected of a chapter. Their greatest victory came in their first campaign on (planet to be named). Fortress Monastery The Celestial Wasps are a fleet based chapter to better respond to threats in their region of Segmentium Tempetus where they are always defending and liberating planets in their sector. The Fortress Monastery is on the Battle Barge (to be named) Combat Doctrine The tactics of the Celestial Wasps is to make landfall establish a base, defend the base, leave the based to a lesser force(ie;small group of marines, or an IG regiment), then finally destroy the invading army, then moving on to strike the enemy. (currently writing battle story) Organization The chapter is comprised of seven companies of sixteen squads Main Body: HQ: Reclusium, Librarium, and maintains wepons and armor Alfa: Vehicle Mounted tactical squads and maintains vehicles Bravo: Assault squads and minor repairs to fortresses Charlie: Devistator squads and builds fortresses Dets: Delta, Echo, Fox: Larger versions of codex battle companies and each can accomplish tasks of main body on lesser scale These changes were implemented when the current chapter master noticed that although arranged into 10 companies the chapter would go to battle in a very similar organization to the current and was change to become permanent. Battle Cry Before battle “build for the Emperor, Fight for Dorn” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for the ideas and you make good points *changes noted in red* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219732-ia-celestial-bees-erwasps/ Share on other sites
CantonWC
Honesty is my policy. IA: Celestial Bees Sorry, but I just about bust out laughing at this. It's gonna take the wind out of your sails if your enemies are too busy mocking you to fight you. the Celestial Bees were created from the gene-seed of Rogal Dorn and given veterans from the Black Templars. The chapter adheres to the Codex Astartes more than their predecessor in that they only have a nominal fighting force of 1000 marines though are organized into only seven companies. The Black Templars are non-Codex. Yours are Codex. See the contradiction? The Liber frowns on Black Templar successors, because we've sat back and reasoned this out. The BT's are fiercely anti-authoritarian, they do not obey the Codex and they have far more than the prescribed 1,000. Now, why would the High Lords of Terra want to make a BT successor, as the BT's would just pass these traits onto the new Chapter. And why 7 Companies? Also, I will pose the same question I've leaned to pose to new arrivals. What is your Chapter like, y'know as people? What makes them get up in the morning? What drives them? What do they see in the mirror? What do they fight for? Who do they fight? How do they see others? If you can answer these kinds of questions, you'll be on the way to making a more fleshed-out Chapter. That's all for now. Dosjetka
Whilst the laugh - potentially to death? - the Bees can sting those that survive? Yes, but bees, once they have stung someone/thing, they die. That's the hard way of things. Maybe you could do a Chapter that runs towards the enemy and blows them up? (I should just shut up sometimes <_< ) Ludovic Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219732-ia-celestial-bees-erwasps/#findComment-2621335 Share on other sites
SpecialIssue
Wasps perhaps? Hornets, Widows, Tarantulas... Either way, the connotations associated with a bee just doesn't fit with the image of ~1300 8-foot demigods furiously purging, cleansing and killing everything in sight with with bolt, blade and high explosives. It's just not aggressive enough. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219732-ia-celestial-bees-erwasps/#findComment-2621370 Share on other sites
NightrawenII
and given veterans from the Black Templars. - No, there is huge variety of reasons why is this bad thing. Their greatest victory came in their first campaign on Ithaca IV. - Ithaca is homeworld of Iron Snakes. The tactics of the Celestial Bees is to make landfall establish a base, defend the base, leave the based to a lesser force(ie; small group of marines, or an IG regiment), then finally destroy the invading army. *Sigh* - No. Space Marines are, in vast majority of encounters, outnumbered and outgunned by the enemy. "Find the hill, defend the hill." tactic is simply not viable option for SM force. Because by doing this, you are throwing away your best asset, the mobility. Marines strike fast and strike hard... Remember that young neophyte. The chapter is comprised of seven companies of sixteen squads - WHY? Is there any reason for ignoring the Codex Astartes? And before you answer, don't forget you are 26th Founding Chapter, a youngling in the Theater of War.
