Redfinger
I had my first tournament this weeked, it was 4 rounds of 1250pt fun!! I placed 37/86 overall, nothing to write home about, but I did win "Best painted army" and the "players choice award" award based on players juding one anothers army...I felt really lucky to win the awards, there was some very well painted armies there and I felt like mine was definetly lacking in some areas, I was supprised and very happy to win! Anyway I learned alot, and was able to really test my skills against some very fun players. I think though the most important thing that I learned though was that the list is not nearly as important as the general, no list can handle every army. Anyway it was good times and I will be heading back to another tourny in march for 1500pts, though I am taking IG, but I will be back for some BA fun at 1750 and 2k. Here are a few army pics! http://lh6.ggpht.com/_d44nvy1xWlA/TTUQuWCv8TI/AAAAAAAACWE/K-sy-h9EDYo/s640/IMG_4675.JPG http://lh6.ggpht.com/_d44nvy1xWlA/TTUQwEsY8vI/AAAAAAAACWM/_lvTsv-LLLM/s640/IMG_4683.JPG Lots more here; http://picasaweb.google.com/RedModeling/1250ArmyPics# Ashton

SamaNagol
There is a lot to be said for just painting neatly with consistent themes and this army on display together really does look very nice indeed.

I am Legion
Definetly looks good. I know we got off on the wrong foot arguing a while ago over at the army list section, but your army looks fantastic. Actually, on closer inspection is your stuff magnetized? Brother-Captain Devlonir
The thing I love most about your army are the Sternguard. You managed to make your most shooty infantry look completely following the Blood Angels theme and they are posed very aggressively. I love that! Redfinger
Congrats on the win. Really good looking army - neat with a cool colour combo... and yes, where did you get the perspex displays - I need them also :D The risers came from a store in m area called "Tap Plastics" I bought them locally, but they do sell them online; http://www.tapplastics.com/shop/product.php?pid=356& Yes my army is magnetized, all assault troops have there packs magnetized so I can run them with or without jump packs. My Sgt's have their arms done up so I can equip them as needed, and the tanks are fully magnetized as well. It was a little extra work, but worth it. igotsmeakabob!!
Your paint scheme is fantastic, I love the work you did meshing the Black Templars pieces with the BAs. Is this an unorthodox Blood Angels job or your own DIY chapter?
Redfinger
This is my own DIY chapter, "Sanguine Templars" I also run them on occasion using the Black Templar codex, I call them "Crimson Templars" when I do that, mostly becuase I am cheap and lazy and dont want to paint 2 different space marine armies, and I really liked the BT look of the models. Ashton Smart man. I like the BT artistic style and I think it meshes well with BA aesthetics. I'm in the process of reordering my theme to make my successors... Grey Angels... or Blood Knights... (lol). Congratulations on the double plus good approval of your peers.
