Master Melta Posted January 18, 2011 Share Posted January 18, 2011 My fellow astartes, I am toying around with my list and I was wondering what folks thought of the Iron Clad Dread's dual Heavy Flamer option. It's abviously more expensive and you lose a melta shot. Are two worth it or is 1 enough. I just got two of these beauties from FW and don't know how to arm them. Thoughts? Iron Father Ferrum Posted January 18, 2011 Share Posted January 18, 2011 It's a good way to lay down some serious infantry-killing power, no doubt. My worry is that now you have no way to crack heavy armor at range. The HK missiles struggle with AV13+, but a melta, well, is a melta. DarkGuard Posted January 19, 2011 Share Posted January 19, 2011 Personally, I prefer the idea of two heavy flamers, with a couple of hunter-killers for taking out light vehicles on the way up. The heavy flamers really help it with killing infantry, and its extra attacks does the rest. However, if you're podding it I'd stick with heavy flamer/ meltagun, so you can crack open those Land Raiders first turn, and if your Pod deviates you have a heavy flamer for infantry if need be.
