Brom MKIV
Greetings! As the topic says I want to paint some stained glass onto my most venerable of land raiders and I am having problems accomplishing anything believable. If anyone has any pics or tutorials on how to do this I would appreciate the help. Thanks in advance. averykess
Are you painting a mural that has stained glass or are you trying to simulate that stained glass has been installed in the landraider? Brom MKIV
The second. I have a heavily converted MK1 LRC and would like to simulate some stained glass. Any ideas? MagicMan
Try it on a test piece first, but firstly i think you'd need something with some texture on it. That is literal raised areas to paint, rather than painting stained glass on a flat surface. But otherwise, try mixing gloss varnish with paint, and then painting? Could work. averykess
hrm, actual stained glass is translucent. I am not sure how successful a pure paint job will be on this. You will probably have to do some modeling on the edges of the stained glass areas to indicate a frame. The easiest way I have seen stained glass modeled is by printing out the 'glass' on transparency material which is then cut and glued to the building from the inside. That is basically the way they do it over at Hirst Arts.
