xscottfergox
Some of you may have seen my initial attempts at forming this chapter, and a few helped me along the way. Hopefully my first batch of models will be in my possesion by tommorow and this thread will be padded out with models. Anywho here's the scheme. And here's a link to my W.I.P. I.A. And some of you may aslo be following my Artwork Log As i say, i should have some models in this thread by tomorrow. Captain Juan Juarez
Where's the damn updates? :) Â One thing I will say: Use the cloak as a counter-point to the grim nature of their scheme - i.e. don't make it grey or black as well, a deep crimson - the colour of drying blood incidentally - would work well. xscottfergox
Calm down Juan as i told you i'm working as fast as i can xD  But ye heres a little update. After getting bored of asembly line building and cleaning I decided to try my hand at a little sculpting and green stuff work on the combat squads sarge. Bare in mind these poses are tacked poses. I've left back pack, shoulders and arms off for purposes of painting http://i54.tinypic.com/108i8hf.jpg http://i54.tinypic.com/24l8yuf.jpg  Sorry for the terrible pictures. PsY Crash
i really dig that conversion. if i could make a suggestion, i would like to see some cordage around the "naked" side of his torso, nothing too fancy of course maybe just an icon, or some prayer beads just to break up the run of the mill power armor just a tad. just my 2cents. xscottfergox
Okay quick update. Got sidetracked from my assembly line again and began work on the rhino. I know most people leave the interior unfinished but i'm a realist and like detail. So i've began painting the interior. The black still needs highlighting, and the console finshing =] Sorry for terrible picture quality and they look a lot messier than they do in person  http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz295/xscotteex/SL271583.jpg http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz295/xscotteex/SL271582.jpg http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz295/xscotteex/SL271579.jpg  Any tips for highlighting black? xscottfergox
So i've begun work on my true scale commander. All's going well so far. =] He's going to be pimped to the max, and yes his sword doubles as an entrenching tool/ bench.  P.S sorry for terrible pictures  http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz295/xscotteex/SL271588.jpg http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz295/xscotteex/SL271589.jpg http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz295/xscotteex/SL271593.jpg http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz295/xscotteex/SL271594.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219992-lpc-the-angelic-court/#findComment-2629446 Share on other sites

xscottfergox
Thanks man. It's all about patience I've found. If you take your time, maybe retry something if you arnt happy, then you can get good results. djhg
Any tips for highlighting black? Depending on your preference (and patience) you might like to have a go at my black technique. The boltguns on the bikes in my WIP thread came out reasonably well. The bike tires a bit muted though. Â If you like it flip me a PM... GooseDaMoose
Wow good GS work man, I'm amazed. I see you're going for the Final Fantasy-style-I'm-totally-not-overcompensating-for-something sword? :D Mind if I steal the side-face-protector-extended-collar thing? Â So many hyphens.. anyway! Keep up the great work! Â P.S. I drybrush my black with dark grey and then a highlight is not necessary! Captain Juan Juarez
Get someone else to do it? The mini looks good, though the red of the helmet looks alot brighter compared to the gauntlet and bolter. Crimson Fisting
If you want your paint to go on smoothly you need to keep your brush wet at all times and also water the paint down a little before applying several thin coats instead of one or two gloppy ones. Metallics are especially gloopy. Also, as someone else said, use brown to base your golds, brasses, bronzes, etc, and black to base your silvers and gunmetals, etc... Definately keep things watered down though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/219992-lpc-the-angelic-court/#findComment-2633863 Share on other sites

Rogan
Sculpting a cloak for everybody? Now that's an ambitious idea. ^^ Your colour scheme's very nice so far - but I think you should apply some more highlights.
