IA10 Siege Vanguard list

Flicking through the Siege list last night and I saw the Land Raider Prometheus under Dedicated Transports, just after Rhino and Razorback. Does that mean that any available unit from Codex Space Marines that has an option to take a dedicated transport may take an LRP, or is it just listed there because the Siege Master can take one?

As a WYSIWYG question - would you allow the use of Combat Shields to count as Siege Mantlets?

Cheers

Unless it says about everyone being able to take then only units that mention they can take one as a dedicated transport can.... As it is a command vehicle it would make sense that the master of the siege can take one!

Sorry for double posting, but could you use this list with the Blood Angels codex?

It occurs to me that it says you can use a named unique character from Codex Space Marines or IA9 and 10. The Lamenters are in IA9 and they use the BA dex, but the army list says Codex Space Marines.

As long as you use only the available units (i.e no Death Company or Sanguinary Priest etc) would it be legal?

Well the thing is... this is forgeworld. Your already needing to ask your opponents permission. You can just as easily ask him if you take take units out of C:BA.

That being said, I dont have direct access to the list. I wouldnt discard the idea out of hand if I was your opponent, but Id want to read the thing thurougly. From how your talking about it however Im going to say its quite likely the list was made with C:SM as the 'parent' list.

In fact, the list of where you can get your Special Characters from seems very straightforward. I really doubt the rest of the list is more ambiguous.

Fair enough. I suppose you could use Blood Angels minis and still use the list provided you avoid any ambiguity like giving your assault squad inferno pistols. The siege list is very specialised after all and I would imagine fluff wise any chapter using such a formation would likely follow the codex as is written.

Besides, it would just be fun and the people I play with are very easy going.

Well there you go, just talk to them about it. As long as you stick with the options in the list, as you put it *I assume it simply references 'tactical squad' or 'assault squad'?* it doesnt seem particularly unbalacing to allow BA to sub. They are very similar... your trading the potential power of chapter tactics *and Ive seen the breakdown... IA 9/10 has some strong ones, as does C:SM* for the gamble of the Red Rage.

They might very well be up for it given that.
