Wolves or Angels?

BA in English, thankye, as well as History, with minors in Broadcasting Communications and Business Administration. (History dual focus in American History/Military tactics and strategies of the Imperial Era.)

Go search for a post from... I don't know... Late 2008 of mine, Schertenleib. I think the title of the thread is "Why did you pick Space Wolves?". I kind of went off the handle on a pages-long diatrabe that almost got me some sort of banned. :) It should still be kicking around.

Now... With that said...

DECOY SMASH! ALSO DRINK! UG! (apparently, I have appearances to keep up.)

I remember enjoying this summary personally:

Youve always been a favorite, you overly lucky pain in the arse ;)

I am impressed.

I've always been curious to try a 13th Company list. And by "always," I mean the little whipper-snapper I was, looking longingly in the windows of the Games Workshop and thinking "those Zerg guys look pretty cool", back when the only things I knew about Warhammer 40,000 was what I had read on Wikipedia and no more. When I first did my research on the armies, it was the 13th Company that sounded very interesting to me, but when I found out their rules were no longer legal I moved on. If only the hobby had gotten to me sooner.

But you, Decoy... almost you persuade me to doubt myself, and look back.

Oh, 13th Company can be done. I still play with them. Logan as "13th Company Commander T'lash", with Wolf Guard (Powerarmored with one or two Termies) as my troops, counting as Grey Slayers. Fenrisian Wolves as Fenrisian Wolves, Long Fangs as Long Fangs, Lone Wolves and T-wolves as Wulfen. Honestly... Aside from the Wulfen Rage, it plays damned near the same as the old 13th Company list.

In all fairness, everything put aside,

DO YOU PREFER A GIANT WOLF OR A GIANT VAMPIRE?

Blood Angels are incredibly powerful, gamewise, and Space Wolves are the strongest loyalist chapter fluffwise.

It depends, do you prefer to be extremely powerful in game with underpriced death star units or to have an army that is true to its background?

The reason i say this is because the Space Wolves actually managed to exterminate an enemy chapter 1 on 1, with the help of their Primarch.

Now there are only around 1000 sons kicking around, hence the name, thanks to the wolves.

Blood Angels' Primarch was the third greatest swordsman of the Emperor, when compard to his primarch brethren, Horus being second, and The Emperor being first.

Also how do you like to play? In organised, cunning yet blood thirsty wolf packs who prefer to circle their enemies or blood crazed, close combat monsters who savage many things standing in their way of glory?

As said earlier, it's up to you.

Hey now, the Blood Angels codex is true to its own background! Take that "Red Thirst" rule. It's supposed to represent, you know, the Red Thirst. People keep using it to counts-as "My Marines are totally smart, or hate xenos extra-bad, or love close combat, or listen to Dragon Force." But the Red Thirst rule doesn't represent any of those things — it represents the very particular curse on the Blood Angels gene-seed.
Yep, but it annoys me when players compare space wolves to orks.

Grey Orks? ;) ;)

It has even been said in the horus heresy novels that the space wolves are tactically superior to most other chapters, especially when comparing Leman Russ to other primarchs.

Except El'Emo or Horus, to name but two...

EDIT: Giant Wolf or Giant Vampire... Neither, both are needless bashing with the "We're Referencing This..." StickTM.

It was just a humorous quote, to liven up the thread. It wasn't meant in a horrible way. Just the way i compare space wolves and black templars, what do you prefer, a giant wolf or a giant bank accountant.

what i meant by comparisons to orks is that people say space wolves are barbaric and brutish and dumb, well i say read prospero burns.
