New Grey Knight Units

I think what we have rumoured so far is:

The ****-chicken. "Stormraven" for those unlearned in proper nomenclature, a squat-looking, condensed Thunderhawk.

2-wound Terminators known as Paladins, replacing normal terminators as an Elite choice and bumping regular terminators to Troops.

Librarian/Psyker Dreadnought

Updated Psychic Powers to match, nullify, or exceed current standards

Updated Wargear to match or exceed current standards

Grand-Master Falcon-Punch, an ability used to one-shot Greater Daemons and Avatar's of War off the table in a fight of blinding rage.

Disclaimer : I added in the last one because I really, really want to see that happen. Just once.

I'm sure there are others, but I've not had nearly enough espresso today to go digging through posts to find it all.

There's also a pic floating around from the back ofthe box of a SR painted in a dull grey and red Grey Knight colour scheme.

By 'floating around' did you mean only two posts above yours?

There's also a little more discussion on the 'dreadknight' over in Warseer.

Which is unfortunate, but at least RedS8n dropped the rumor that there will be units (more than one?) with personal teleportation devices. Maybe we'll see more Deep Striking to make up for a lack of vehicles in an elite footslogger army?

I think we can go ahead and official confirm the Stormraven as a new unit:

Good God man! My eyes, my beautiful eyes...!

In fairness, that id a helluva lot less ugly than the pics painted up BA style. Maybe just the angle of the photo or something, but they can llok worse.

A LOT worse.

I don't know what's worse:

These new StormRavens that don't look like they could get off the ground, or sand in my... nevermind.

Is it too hard to ask for something that actually looks like a transport instead of the "Let us add more guns!" philosophy?

It looks like you could fit about four guys in the front of that, not to mention if it got hit in the tail by anything bigger than a fruit fly, it would start doing ass-over-tea-kettle spins from the weight differential.

I've ridden in everything from a C130 going through an arm of a hurricane, to a UH-60 Blackhawk through a snowstorm...and I wouldn't step foot in that thing for fear of my added weight in the front making it do a perpetually endless nosedive.

No thank you; my Grey Knights are too expensive to be biological lawn darts.

I swear I'm one of the only people that like the Storm Raven. It's growing on me like a pug.. so ugly that it's kinda cute. I'll definately be getting one, perhaps more down the road as I can help it. Or I may do a two prong approach and have some units in Storm Raven and some in Land Raider traditional transport and divide the opponents attention that way :P I'll have to just wait for the new Codex and see...

Latest reports from Stickmonkey suggest the new Terminators a pretty similar to the current ones (at least in size) and will fit in well your current collect.

That reminds me, I should put those new rumours up on the rumours thread sometime...

Edit - Here you go. Enjoy!

So cute, you could tickle it under the heavy weapon array. Just make sure it doesn't sneeze when you do.

It's understandable if there's a contrast of opinion but is it really that different to what was expected? To me it looks like a mini TH, which is what it's meant to be. It helps being much more worried about what the Dreadknight could look like instead.

EDIT 21/01/2011 - Re-edited.

I could give a rip how it looks........ If it Blows stuff up and breaks things, WHO CARES! In it to WIN it baby! Anyone besides me notice how little tank killing power is in the current codex? I have played it since it was the new book. But its getting dang near impossible to be competitive, especially against other 3+ armies.

And if it drops some nasty new Dreadnaught variant on your head then allows a pile of 2 wound GK termies to hop out and play baloney slicers from hell on a unit of anything......... It could look like a flying school bus and I'd take it.

I want a competitive GK codex. Can the =I= crap. (That was a living abortion from day one) I want some guys who walk up to a daemon or psychic heavy chaos army and go.... "BOOOOM!--- Now lets go grab a beer" :D

I like the one about being able to negate any psychic power played on the field possibly remove from game, not just psychic powers targeted at them. Can we say bye-bye to the "DOOM GUIDE WAVESERPANT" turnkey army?

Well, (going by the word of my store manager) GW is limited to 6 sprues per release. So this would be my guess:

Gray Knights squad, 2 sprues.

Gray Knights Termie Squad, 2 sprues.

Stormraven, Doesn't count because it's the BA one; painted gray.

Some sort of heavy support squad, there is something like it in the downloadable Demon Hunters codex on GW's site, But I've forgotten what it's called... 2 Sprues

There's loads of tank upgrades on ForgeWorld, as well as dreadnought stuff. So I doubt There'll be any of that. (FW)

Probably one or two metal guys? :)

Purgation squad as it is (unless it gets new weapon options) is simply a Grey Knight squad with extra weapons. Even if the weapon options are included, chances are a SM Dev squad will contain the parts unless entirely new weapons are made up.

Personally, my bets would be on the new walkery thingie if I was a betting man, as existing players won't have it and it'd be new and exciting

This made laugh. Very hard. I'm right with you on this Vindicatus.

It will be good to see if the new models fit nicely with the old - but I'm currently stripping, spraying and staining my metals as we speak. They look good with a new paint job.

As mentioned elsewhere, it will be very interesting to see what they do with the Dreads.

Did someone also mention a LR Redeemer?
