Grey Mage Posted January 25, 2011 Share Posted January 25, 2011 there is some fluff in our dex that suggest we have one!, with the stormraven model finally there i think we now definetly can say that those flyers on the artwork on page 4 are stormravens since they defietly lack the extra frontal wings a thunderhawk has, as well as the heavy bolters underneath the wings. my conclusion is those must be stormravens!i'm not saying they are space wolves stormravens, but they are definatly stormravens! :P I mentioned this last year and was dismissed. :D Yeah, I remember that... and we kinda figured that it was just a really bad drawing of a thunderhawk. I mentioned this last year and was dismissed. ;) Yeah, I remember that... and we kinda figured that it was just a really bad drawing of a thunderhawk. we did because we actually had no clue back then of how a stormraven would look. with the stormraven being released now i'd actually like to see someone take a picture of it from about the same angle! it does ressemble a stormraven more then it ressembles a thunderhawk imo Ps: it's not that i'm intending to use a stormraven or something like that, i'm just wondering why they would screw up an artwork like that if it really was supposed to be a thunderhawk! ;) edit: i just recieved an answer from GW on the mail i send them: "Dear Games-Workshop, After some heavy disccussion about the use of a stormraven we're still not sure wether the stormraven is a vehicle all astartes can/should use or wether it's a grey knight/blood angels only vehicle. Besides the logical reasoning there is some evidence of the stormraven being depicted in the space wolves codex(on page 4, right corner). Does this mean the space wolves have acces to the stormbird too (fluffwise that is) as they seem rather interesting to be used in apocalyps. However if your opponenet is ok with you using one I don’t see any problem with Space Wolf, Black Templar or even a black Legion Stormraven. It’s also worth remembering that in apocalypse you pretty much have free reign to do as you wish so why wouldn’t these chapters use this gunship. I hope this helps.
