Nice color effect! what colors are you using?

It's a ugly modified version of littlbitz recipe which I'm doing no justice.

Fenris Grey

watered down shadow grey

GW black wash(not in littlbitz recipe)

First highlight 2 parts shadow 1 part space wolf grey with a wide band

second highlight 1 part shadow 1 part space wolf normal highlight

third highlight 1 part shadow, 2 part space wolf grey fine highlight on edges

fourth highlight space wolf grey on raised areas very thin

5th highlight is skull white on extreme edges/points of the model.

@Mav, thanks!

After some counsel from Kurgan, I decided to change the fur to brown. I've also painted everything with at leas a first coat except the runes on the sword. I will need to find a good "glowing" tutorial. Hopefully next update will be a completed Aesir Stormcrow(shown below) and a WIP of my next Rune Priest, who I have yet to name.

With brown..

you are a really good painter, i am not that good, my grey hunters only have one coat of shadow grey, and are waiting for their highlights. Dunno how to highlight shadow grey. Any ideas ragnarok?

and brilliant posing on the rune priest btw.

Son

Thanks for the kind comments Sons. :P I"m still learning and needing to get more practice. I'm using littlbitz recipe, albeit not nearly as well. It's lots highlighting so not for the highlighting squeamish. You may get good results with your base color, a wash and 1 simple highlight. I like bitz's recipe as it makes a good looking table top quality army. TT quality is the best I can hope for right now as my skills are still at the novice level.

On the posing, yeah I wanted to change the sword arm a little. One thing I've noticed on our plastics is that many of the weapon parts take a little extra in posing to make them unique.

Well between the UFC fights and the Superbowl I was not able to finish Aesir this weekend but I'm very close! Basing, bone/inside leather highlights, Eyes on the wolf, highlights on SM eye lenses then touch ups. Hopefully finished by tonight. Then I'll move on to Rune Piests Hell Slayer and Ozur.

I like him a lott, but isent the base to big?

PS: We have used exatly the same parts for ouer rune priests.

Aesthetically, I think that is a matter of taste.

Game play wise, I will suffer probably when I'm trying to hug cover. Which I'm ok with.

Legally, My understanding is that you can make a base bigger, but not smaller. For example bringing Terminators down to 25mm.

OK, Aesir is done, now I have to complete my other two Run Priest for the challenge.

Now for my final Rune Priest. Hellslayer... (13th Company Volunteer brought into Harald's GC) He will have black legion legs and right hand will be from the Word Bearers. Grey parts will be used Kapturowski's first method for painting his wolves.
