I've been really busy with school and commissions and haven't really had time for a breather. Finally, O get to post something of my own for you guys I've been working on for a while (finished a couple of months ago). Retrograde Posted January 22, 2011 Share Posted January 22, 2011 That is a wonderful paintjob :P The only thing I could suggest to improve it would be to narrow the shading lines between the knee pads and the thigh plates. The one thing that made me giggle was my original interpretation of the Crozius as a TH, and the tilt of his head. Gave the impression of "Ok, which side is the business end of this thing again?" That would be mostly hidden behind the knee plate. The small disc shape detail above his right knee is part of the thigh armour and looks a little strange to me painted as part of a rather large gap between the plates. Rune Priest Posted January 22, 2011 Author Share Posted January 22, 2011 Ah, I see what you mean; normally that would be true with pretty much all SM legs GW puts out, but anatomically, there must be soft armour directly behind the kneepad to allow for mobility. However, positioning-wise, I would have had him looking down to his left in order to make it look like he was about to crash it down on some poor sap's head. It's too late to make a change like that, but the pose looked a bit awkward to me. But you made up for it almost completely with an absolutely SUBLIME paint job. The smoothness! Rune Priest Posted January 24, 2011 Author Share Posted January 24, 2011 Well, I'd say that the helmet is loyalist due to pretty much happenstance and being battlefield debris (as if he was stepping on an IG lasgin or a severed hand).
