FW Warhound Titan

Recommended Posts

Be warned: this isn't technically a work in progress just yet. For as long as I have known of the existence of Forge World (six or seven years, probably), I have wanted a Warhound Titan. Just before Christmas, I finally freed up the funds to purchase one, and with our Canadian dollar being relatively strong versus the GBP, it seemed like the right time to make a purchase.

However, I do not plan to actually start building until next winter. I have too much plastic to finish painting this winter to get my regular SM army into some sort of playable shape. So don't be disappointed when this thread doesn't see updates for a loooong time.

I thought some of you might be interested in what a Warhound looks like fresh out of the shipping box, though, so I'll oblige with photos. If you want any better detail pics of anything, let me know and I'll try to get those up. Maybe not promptly, but eventually

Overall, with my quick glance over the parts, I'm incredibly impressed with this kit. There is almost nothing in the way of miscasts, and the detail in the sculpts is incredible. It's intimidating, but exciting at the same time.

Anyway, 'nuff chit chat. On with the pics.

Whole thing, with a Dreadnought for scale

(Wow, those pics are big. Might reduce those a bit when I get a second.)

Few bits of advice, take your time! Trust me it will be worth it. Pin the knee joints, leg joints, ankle joints and pin the torso twice for much more stability and the weapon joints; unless you want to magnetize bits then ignore all that :P When putting the top of the Warhound on, the upper carapace bit above the head and main body, don't be afraid to push too hard as I was and it isn't a snug fit and requires plasticard/greenstuff to fill the gaps. Also the leg guards at the bottom you may want to pin those on as they were annoying to stick on and have them remaining on. Just some advice from when I built mine, you may be more experienced ect!

Most importantly have fun!

I was thinking "Damn! That's some hefty Extra Armour for that Dread!"

LOL. Nice!

I'm 100% open to advice! I don't have a heap of experience with resin yet (and especially not on this scale), although a have a Mk IV Dreadnought to practice on. I'm definitely interested in magnetizing, but again, no experience with it. We'll see when the time comes.

Taking my time is the one thing I'm really good at when it comes to modeling :P
