Old or new

I like and prefer the one on the right (Iron Priest) Because of its subtle highlights that help define the shades in the armour on the Iron Priest. Could we get other pictures for a picture comparison?

The other night I asked my friend what he thinks of my new wolves colour.Went from the same blue as you to adeptus battle grey.He said the darker colour lets it look more battle weatherd, if you understand what I mean, and I agree. So for me the right one looks darker,so Id say the right one.
You are getting there ;)

I prefer the highlights on the IP, but have you tried doint a two-stage highlight? 50/50 with Shadow Grey and SW Grey and then highlighting the most pronounced areas with SW Grey.

It is just that, but i think that 50 50 mix needs to be more 70 30 be course the shadow gray base coat is now much darker.

I still have to think about this, if i go for the ironpriest i'll have to wash and highlight my whole army ;)

The one on the right, by far.

Try to think of it along the following lines, better start now and be done before you keep adding more models to the count.

It's a high peak yes, but it will be even higher to climb the more time passes.

It is by the way unheard of, that a son of Russ turns from a challenge ;) .

A perfect project for long and cold nights!

I`ve done it once, was kinda mind-numbing after highlighting my 18th power armoured model.

You did see my full army pic right ^_^

Ill still have to think about this long and hard B)

I`ve seen it. Its quite impressive ^_^

Its a daunting project but it can be done. I would just start with those models that is used the most.

In two weeks time, I´ve spent three full days painting almost forty IG infantry models. Was fun seeing the army grow bit by bit. You will feel the same satisfaction B)

I like the armor color of the left model, but the technique on the right model is far superior. With equal treatment with highlights, the left model would look IMO infinitely better, especially for the entire army. As it stands the color of the right model, particularly with red, just makes it look like a slightly desaturated Crimson Fist.

DV8

Im with DV8 also!!

IMO it has to be YOU that likes the colour. Your army looks awesome as it is!

My army has been painted over the last 20 years, ive got better and the colour has changed but I still use the first " lighter, inferior paint jobs models and the latest models together when I play bigger games. The way I look at it armour would get painted at differant times in reality , weathered differently etc..

Though having said that Im not keen on some of the earlier basing work I did and am debating whether to rebase the lot... Doh! lol Sometimes it just bugs dont it!

If you want more blue this is the scheme I am usuing.

Black Primer

Fenris Grey

Wash Asurmen Blue (acts as more of a glazed than a wash)

Highlight with Fenris Grey/Shadow Grey mixes.

My final highlights are with Ice Blue instead of Space Wolf Grey (personal preference)

I would post an example but the site is saying I cannot post a link from photobucket. Weird
