asaye83
How would the Inquisition respond to a SM chapter that was predominantly focused on it's tribal shamanism as opposed to the rule of law and religion that the Imperium enforces? I'm trying to get ideas for a DIY BA chapter and I've started leaning heavily towards a native american/gothic knight "vampire" themed army. There's a lot of fluff that can be generated from this because of a certain conflict of interest with the Imperium. Basically, I'm looking at a chapter that stands fast in the defense of humanity, but will rage at the bureaucracy that sometimes gets in the way of that defense. Again, this leaves a lot of room for conflict, not just with traitors and xenos, but also the Imperium itself. Any who, I just thought I'd stop by and pick up on any suggestions as to some juicy ways of using this chapter background you guys might have. Any input is totally appreciated. Thanks, and much love! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220437-in-regards-to-shamanism/ Share on other sites
Octavulg
The Steel Cobras got excommunicated for worshipping the Emperor in an animal form. Plnety of Marine chapters get by without acknowledging the Emperor's divinity at all. Somewhere in there is your answer. We love you, too. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220437-in-regards-to-shamanism/#findComment-2631067 Share on other sites
Ishida
The Codex Astartes, er, I mean the Guide to DIY has an extensive section on how to handle just the question. As a general rule of thumb, the older, more connected, or isolated your Chapter, the weirder your chapter can be. The Space Wolves and White Scars, both First Founding Legions, are shamanistic. Presumably, the majority of White Scars successors have similar outlooks. The Raven Guard have some hints of shamanism to them, but the aren't nearly as well detailed as the Sons of Russ or the White Scars.
