Ekgar_Wolf
Hi there. These are the last vehicles I painted for a commission job. They are made with acrylics and oils. I never do anything but painting, so please don´t blame for things like non drilled assault cannon.. :o http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/6438/dsc02162y.jpg http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/8914/dsc02163m.jpg http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/5927/dsc02167h.jpg http://img815.imageshack.us/img815/9651/dsc02168s.jpg http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/3483/dsc02170t.jpg http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/2509/dsc021710.jpg http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/2558/dsc02172mh.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220473-land-raider-rhinos-and-drop-pod/ Share on other sites
Hellios
I like the armour but some of the metal work such as the tracks/guns look really plain compared to the rest of the model and you are obviously pretty good with a brush. It could be that something is lost in the photo or just a preference in painting style... they just seem really and I don't know if this make sense... but 'soft'. As I said for the most part the armour looks great and the weathering is also very good without going over the top. ShinyRhino
Definitely sme smooooth airbrush work, but I have to echo the concerns about how monochromatic they are. Not much to break up the grey/blue tones. Even painting the rivets metallic would help break up the monotony of the paint job. Brother Nezulius
Very nice looking models! Did you airbrush the hulls of the tanks? I'm thinking about getting me an airbrush as well, but I don't know where to start looking. Have any tips for me? ;) Cheers! Durfast Spiritwolf
Very nice indeed - although I think that they would be improved by drilling the barrels out rather than leaving them flush Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220473-land-raider-rhinos-and-drop-pod/#findComment-2633008 Share on other sites
kaz.
Great job. I like the discret weathering with the rust streaks. Maybe you should take pictures with another background (blue vehicles on blue background --->bad contrast) And of course you need to drill up the weapons on your land raider. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220473-land-raider-rhinos-and-drop-pod/#findComment-2633034 Share on other sites
Zincite
Very nice, but even if you don't drill the barrels then why not just paint the ends black? Again, Very nice :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220473-land-raider-rhinos-and-drop-pod/#findComment-2633682 Share on other sites
Ekgar_Wolf
Thanks to all for the comments ¡ I like the armour but some of the metal work such as the tracks/guns look really plain compared to the rest of the model and you are obviously pretty good with a brush. It could be that something is lost in the photo or just a preference in painting style... they just seem really and I don't know if this make sense... but 'soft'. As I said for the most part the armour looks great and the weathering is also very good without going over the top. You are totally right, and the only reason about it its time: I had spent many hours in the other stages (airbrush, oils, scratches that I highlighted one on one, etc) and I had to finish the job before a date. Another sad thing about commission jobs.. Definitely sme smooooth airbrush work, but I have to echo the concerns about how monochromatic they are. Not much to break up the grey/blue tones. Even painting the rivets metallic would help break up the monotony of the paint job. I understand, but remember this is a commission job. I definitely would have added some Red/Yellow colour to contrast the blue-grey. In fact its difficult to paint without having that freedom.. ^_^ Very nice! Close ups please? Sorry but that is impossible: customer has them all. Very nice looking models! Did you airbrush the hulls of the tanks? I'm thinking about getting me an airbrush as well, but I don't know where to start looking. Have any tips for me? :) Yeah, I used an airbrush. I would buy a cheap one to experiment. Some starting kits are a good option (I bought mine for 90 euros, compressor included).
