Vladar
Greatly inspired by Davy Jone's crew from the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movies (as well as other pirate gangs from other sources). These minis appropriately take the Rulebook/Codex as a set of "guidelines" more than, well, rules. :P Uniforms felt awkward for pirates (sorry Huron), but to unite the force each Marine has the Jolly Roger and something gold. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/tentaclesF.jpg They be warped, some worse than others. Where did his head go? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/zebesF.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/zebesB.jpg The first one here has a hangman's noose, which actually 'popped' the then-unglued head out a bit while assembling. And yes, that's a "lobster" Pirate from Metroid. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/sharkF.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/sharkB.jpg The Jolly Roger is modified for those with unusual heads: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/sharkS.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/eelF.jpg I had too much fun with customizing all these pirates http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/hooksF.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/hooksB.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/hooksS.jpg Higher up on the pirate hierarchy (first mates/Chosen); the Medic again displaying modified Jolly Rogers http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/mantisF.jpg Necrons are wonderful for prosthetic parts. This Pirate uses parts of the Necron gun for his leg/foot. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/meltSF.jpg Clearly, the wisest thing to do after a plasma gun explodes on you is to use another plasma gun http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/mantmeltB.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/rootbeardF.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/rootbeardB.jpg Definitely need to rework the coat on the brainy pirate, particularly that one sleeve http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/hostageF.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/hostageB.jpg A Dark Eldar captive and a (cat o' nine tails) whip.... Hmmm, probably should have thought about that before taking the pic. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/grenadeF.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/grenadeB.jpg Not quite as chaotic as most the others http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/carryF.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/carryB.jpg The inevitable two hooks, two peglegs, two eyepatches, all-banged-up-but-still-kicked Pirate No clue how the pair with the statue would work in-game http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/TNT007/captainF.jpg The first mate (who's eye has popped out it's socket due to the helmet being breached and decompression and whatnot) and Captain (or pirate lord or whatever) I'm not as pleased with these two as I am with the others. I like the Terminator's size but not the un-converted-ness, I like the Lord's converted-ness but not the size. Perhaps a fusion of concepts would work out (and just promote some other figure to 'first mate') Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220500-chaos-space-pirates/ Share on other sites
