Night Runner
I think the posing of this model is outstanding. Congrats  You did an excellent job of it. Having said that, if I must be honest, I don't think the colour scheme or hair style reflect Ragnar as is currently represented in the fluff, but this is just my opinion and should be thoroughly disregarded. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220528-scratch-built-ragnar/#findComment-2632583 Share on other sites
Starkhan Fellblade
I agree with Night Runner it is a cool but is not consistent with fluff. His blade is a chain sword variant of frostblade. His hair is long and black as well. That being said it is a cool looking model. You can make him anyway you want. TopToffee
As has been said, an immensely cool model... but not really Ragnar, imho Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220528-scratch-built-ragnar/#findComment-2632665 Share on other sites
Valerian
I agree with Night Runner it is a cool but is not consistent with fluff. His blade is a chain sword variant of frostblade. His hair is long and black as well. Starkhan You might want to recheck that. The official design studio Ragnar had blond hair. He kept his blond hair from his introduction during Rogue Trader through all of 2nd Edition. He didn't get the dark hair until GW released a brand new studio army (to show off all of the new plastic models) with the release of the 3rd Edition codex in 2000. Ragnar went as a blond for his first eight years. Durfast Spiritwolf
Then he ran out of dye ;) Nice pose, but I concur on the sword. He needs a meaty chainsword with blades made from flakes of kraken teeth Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220528-scratch-built-ragnar/#findComment-2633001 Share on other sites

DV8
Eh. Decent attempt, but there's a lot of things that bother me about this model. First, I hate that head. Probably one of the worst from the original sprue, and in no way indicative of Ragnar (by the artwork, Ragnar has a rather "gaunt" and thin face, with elongated features). You're also missing his classic top knot! Then there's the posing. The position of the legs, and the balance of the model is more akin to some sort of awkward side-step/dance than a run or charge forward. It looks weird to me and it niggles at my brain when I look at the model. The joint of his left hand sticks out way too much, and for all that's good and holy, I see mold lines! By the artwork and the fluff Ragnar's Frost Blade is indeed a toothy chainsword, but longer. You can take two plastic chainswords and stick them together to extend the length, provided you can make clean cuts and/or are great at greenstuff gap filling. Alternatively, Gabriel Seth's blade (as previously mentioned) will work as well, but then you're buying an entire model just for the weapon. There's not enough detail for a Wolf Lord. A Wolf Guard, perhaps. But definitely not ornate enough for your army general. He should be resplendent and decked out with bling! Where's the bling man?! Lastly, it bothers me that you took the sword off the Emperor's Champion (25th anniversary model). I sadface because that model is one of my favorites... :) DV8 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220528-scratch-built-ragnar/#findComment-2635039 Share on other sites
The Son of Russ
the chainsword from gabriel seth might work Brilliant idea Take seths sword and body, add ragnar's head there is a head that comes in the space wolf pack that looks similar to ragnars, a top knot ponytail (like lurtz from LOTR) and a snarl I think your model is good, but he should have the head i suggested. And seths chainsword. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220528-scratch-built-ragnar/#findComment-2636842 Share on other sites
