Fellow Witch Hunters, Will You Be Tempted...

Obviously the following goes out to players who have a strong preference to WH codex rather than a love for both, but enjoy using Allies or Inducted rules from time-to-time. It may be too early to tell whether their units will be any good but considering the options still open to WH players until their own codex is released (hopefully not to far away ;)) I wondered who will be keen to test drive the changes in the DH codex. In addition, if any of you play with a casual group, would you be tempted to swap to the newer versions of units like assassins if they worked out well?

No worries this isn't a test of your faithfulness to the WH codex. :P

I for one will be getting a GK army. I already have a deathwatch army and a huge sisters army, so adding the grey knights is for me a natural progression. It'll give me an opportunity to use some of my fun units like the IST squads I've converted up and female vindicare. I would use them when playing witch hunters but they just don't seem to fit with the rest of my army. The biggest question for me is do I paint the grey knights silver or use my existing colour scheme from the rest of my inquisition troops.

I don't think of this as being unfaithful to the witch hunters, there's no way I'm using count as for my sisters models and in my opinion a storm trooper is a storm trooper regardless of codex. I wish that GW would get rid of all the inconsistencies between the wargear and units, but I know that will happen eventually. We just have a period of transition between the 2 codecies.

Probably not. I've had two boxes of Grey Knights (I was supposed to sell them on, but the buyer backed out) at the bottom of a crate for three years now. A shiny new codex didn't make me break out my marines, it's probably not going to make me pull out the PAGKs either. I have too many guard girls to clean up and paint, anyway.

As a player with a excessively large SoB army, no i dont think i will go and grab and GK's. I used to own about 2k worth but sold them off.

Female Vindicare, would you be willing to show us on here, would love too see how you did it.

The intent was less aimed at Grey Knights and more about Inquisitors (+ retinues), assassins and non-GK units. Figured that if you wanted Grey Knights you'd likely play both codices already.

Mind, most WH players weren't fans of =][= being part of their codex in the first place, so I doubt many'll be waiting eagerly to play them anyway. And who knows maybe GW will respond by placing only those units in the GK codex and keep the Sister of Battle codex as Ecclesiarchy-only. Maybe this period between both books is the only remaining time with which those that do like them will still get to play as them...

It depends on what the codex reflects. As has been mused upon if the next WH codex is SoB only then we won't have much choice! I'll wait until I can read it myself and see what it can do but if the =][= elements are good enough (not just in rules) then I'd use it to field Inquisitorial stuff as an army. I tend to prefer pure SoB from C:WH so using a different codex for the Inquisition would not be a bad thing.

Event though I won't be collecting any GKs I find myself looking forward to seeing the models more than anything else at the moment! Also hoping for plastic Stormies one day...

Im with Warriorfish here. I have always played my inquisition army and my sisters separate. If the new GK codex has a viable build for an IST/Inquisition/Freak show army them I will have absolutely no problem using it. After all I do support the separation of the Inquisition from the Sisters of Battle. I have always felt that having the Inquisition fighting along side the sisters is like Have the CIA fight with the Pontifical Swiss Guard.

If the Grey Knights codex allows me to field a decent Inquisitor-led private army with Stormies, Retinues, and other associated riff raff I will pick the codex up. I have an Imperial Guard army and converting more of them into Storm Troopers is a simple enough task. I have the Callidus and Vindicare assassin with my Witch Hunters/Sisters of Battle army and I look forward to seeing how they may have been changed.

I plan to invest in a squad of Grey Knights and Grey Knight Termies for display purposes, but I have little desire to play them as an army. I will break down and buy a Storm Guppy to hover alongside my Valkyrie in Apocalypse.
