Space Wolves in Apocalypse

So this past weekend I got to play my first Apocalypse scaled game. Lots of neat stuff was there. Another wolf player even had some Thunderwolf cavalry of his own (both of our cavalry squads got nuked by orbital bombardment and heavy ranged fire early on. There were about twenty players in all. Some dude even went and built an Imperator titan. Sucker was massive.

Anyway, the wolves did well that day. I didn't bring any superheavies, but I did make a small squadron of Thunderbolt fighters that were very helpful. I noticed that the titans mainly focused on firing at all the other titans and left the infantry and vehicles alone. Baneblades and Shadowswords were a pain to deal with (pic related). I did manage to get the Fenrisian Air Corps to blast off a Destroyer cannon from a thunderhawk as well as a volcano cannon and a structure point on a Shadowsword.

So how have your great companies fared in large multiplayer games? What other imperial weapons do you use? I know a lot of older players still like to pull out the old Space Wolf Leman Russ variant, since it is still fully legal in Apocalypse.

Wish I could have been there. That's my local store (plus I consider myself a Founding Member of the Apoc-Eclipse group that ran the event).

I have yet to take my Wolves into the Apocalypse, but my future plans are...

A Thunderhawk.

A Storm Raven or Two.

Probably alter one of the all-terminator datasheets to be a little more "Wolfy." Maybe even look to the "Chaos" Doombringer one for some inspiration (my initial foray into SW is a all-terminator Logan Force; I'm just now adding the power armor element).

Land Raider datasheet - if I can scare up a 3rd LR that is.

Plus my favorite, a Vortex Grenade - carried by Logan himself, of course. ^_^

Ooo, ooo, maybe even alter the Lords of the Black Crusade into a Wolfy thing - Grimnar + 4 Lords/Priests and etc.

If ever there was a game that allows the Wolves to really shine, it is Apoc. I have only gotten in one game myself with my guys and I ran my brothers THunderhawk with them. It was a thing a of beauty. The higher the points the worse off things are for our opponents. :)
I've been playing 'Apoc' games long before apoc rules came out... :D ...my Sons of Russ have always fared very well without the use of superheavies...but then again I can field 5 Landraiders, 2 Exterminators and 9 Predators at one time...Lord Brother Egil would be impressed... ;) and of course 40 TDA wolf gaurd help out too...
