Master Toddius: thanks Frater, but sadly no rules, all just for a diorama I am working on. Happy to hear anyone's thoughts on it though as would be great to include in my IA!

Kierdale: And thanks to you brother! As I don't really game I have absolutely no excuse not to take my time!! And for sure, old school brass it is, hopefully slap it on this evening along with some initial weathering.

Cheers all

Night hunter,

Ive been playing catch up reading up on the pages of this log, and i must say im massively impressed by the level of work and detail your putting into guys they look great on tabletop,

is the camo scheme based on schemes the Germans used paint their fighters in world war in ?

and i love the support vehicle, lovely detail and also address something ive always wondered about how do marine forces sustain themselves in the field ? As the mini and in the books it never explains where all their ammo goes lol

great stuff,

cant wait for me,

BA.

Brother Agrippen: Thanks indeed Brother! The "camo" has indeed been likened to WW1 German planes before and I wish I could say it was but the initial idea came from an eldar (heresy!) wave serpent I saw in white dwarf many, many moons ago!

And regards the support vehicles you are absolutely right, that is something that has always annoyed me too!!

On to tonights actions:

Initial weathering done

and a merry hour drilling out some spent shell casings, FUN TIMES!

Paladin7221: Cheers brother, always happy to hear it!

Brother Agrippen: Thanks brother! got a bit washed out but almost finished it now, shells brassed up, and some better shots of the weathering in the cold light of day!

Lordy, sorry guys, been neglecting these guys a little!

Boramar: Many thanks and glad to hear it brother.

Pulse: Yeah so am I, the light grey would have been an error!

Kierdale: Cheers mate, weathering is really something I am looking to improve so that is great to hear!

And just cheeky long range look at what these are all going toward:

Cheers all!

And if anybody knows a good way of making realistic grass areas on a board like this for the love of the emperor do let me know :)

Good evening all!

It has been far, far too long since I last updated this thread but I had visions of finishing it for the daemons but that, sadly, is just not going to happen :P

None the less, a couple of looks at the diorama as it stands at the mo:

Quick reverse shot of the board:

And a couple of close ups of the "action"

Quite pleased with a couple of the conversions, the standard bearer in particular and the reloading marine gets a nod too.

But as a bonus, I really have worked hard on some skills, notably weathering which I am now really quite happy with, yay!

Hopefully I will pick the pace up a little on this but with real life being what it is I can't guarantee it!

Cheers all!

Lovely work as always :)

Have you thought about using synthetic broom bristles cut to length for the grass? In my minds eye I can see it working quite well, but then again my mind has some strange ideas about what works well

Just an idea.

Damn you! You just gave me an awesome idea. All with that one last picture of the 'Rhino hitch'. Thanks, like I need more of them bouncing around my brain. But how can something this slick, tight, and well executed, not inspire great ideas? Stellar work, as always.

Great stuff!

With the marine reloading: is that the reloading-pose arms from the landspeeder storm?

One more question if you don't mind: how do you get the weathering powder into the creases and crevices? All to often I use weathering powders and they just end up on the raised areas like drybrushing.

Absolutely amazing diorama you've got going there mate. All the action you've included is perfect, lots of little extras for the eye to focus on and enjoy. And great work on that weathering, you should definitely be happy with what you've achieved.

Cheers guys!

Razblood: You are quite right, brush bristles will make an appearance toward completion!

Biohazard: Not a problem mate, pretty simple if a little time consuming but it's a simple case of drilling out the original standard arm and filing down the marine standard bearer arm to fit. The keys is lots of dry fitting. Lots!

Subtle Discord: You are too kind mate! Look forward to seeing what you will come up with, should be epic!

Kierdale: Yes and No brother, it's the hands from the storm kit and catachan arms. Regards the weathering powders the key I've found is not to brush over the areas, but RAM it into the crevasses en mass! Don't hold back, you can always brush off any excess. Let me know how it turns out!

Togusa-san: Thanks brother! Just what I was aiming for!

ThisisJimmy: And thanks to you brother, not quite as happy as I will be when I finish but content for the mo ;)
