Sarapham
What master of the runes does can be find in the first paragraph of page 37, the page with psychic powers. As for wolf lord against orks I would probably use Runic armor, Wolf Claw and storm shield if you dont have a thunderwolf to put him on. MalachiOfRuss
Stick Saga of the Warrior Born on that guy (if you've got the points for it) and watch him rip through those Orks. Get him "wound up" by carving up a few Boyz squads, then charge into that Warboss at watch your opponent weep when you tell him you've got 12 or so attacks at Initiative 5.... all power weapons... reroll wounds.... bye-bye Warboss. stinkenheim
2, there was a full stop hiding towards the end lol. Rune priests are probably the most versatile, value for money HQ. Then wolf priests followed by wolf lords. As your running smallish games I wouldn't worry too much about the wolf lord and would take the rune priest. If it were me I'd go with living lightning and murderous hurricane, and wouldn't take master if runes. Maybe give him chooser of the slain to improve his shooting. If you have the pints maybe runic armour too. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220707-hq/#findComment-2635806 Share on other sites

Was contemplating suggesting saga of the Beast slayer for the rune priest but then I realised that the best bet for a RP to kill a Warboss with +1 wound is (providing no Psykic powers were used, or only one if he has mor) to actually use the force weapon on it. The Son of Russ
I would go with a rune priest, they always do alot of damage. Also you could give him Jaws of the world wolf, against orks that really damages them Due to their low initiative. It is good for taking out things such as carnifexes and Princes of nurgle. But rune priests can really hurt hqs such as warbosses for orks, if they are running round damaging your units alot. Just charge him in, wound him, and instant kill him. Simple. Ikken
remember that runic weapons are force weapons ,and can ID warbosses and nobs , but you need to have an unused psycer attack left , which adds to the value of master of the runes . hit the enemy unit with a psychic shooting attack , assault , and ID the enemy char . I keep forgetting this myself , the rune priest is one of the best values for points going . and he is cheap at 100 pts base Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220707-hq/#findComment-2637981 Share on other sites
