Chaos Marine test model

Hi,

Me and a friend of mine have decided to go halves on building a Chaos Space Marine army adding a unit each at a time which should eventually leave us with a large combined force but also with 2 seperate small forces.

 

Last night i painted up a test model for a Khorne/renegade space wolves unit i'm building for the army.

Firstly my camera isnt brilliant at capturing the colours on models and so the highlights look quite flat,which i assure you they are not.

Secondly my attempt at paint blood on the axe looks naff,so untill i learn a decent method i won't be trying it again for a while. ^_^

 

You'll notice both shoulder pads have been left bare,and thats where i was hoping i could get some advice from you fellow painters.

I'm in need of a army name and a chapter icon for their left shoulder pad.It needs to be something quite simple so i can pull it off with my rather poor freehand skills,and it i'd like it to incorporate a wolf symbol and something to represent thier loyalty to Khorne.

 

Any ideas,comments and critiscm is more welcome. :)

Maybe Blood Wolves or Hounds of Khorne. As for the symbol, use the actual space wolves transfer and modify it a little. Just a thought.

Fangs of Khorne with a fanged maw icon some what similar to World Eaters minus the world. Should be a relatively easy free hand symbol

This isn't a suggestion for chapter/symbol, but for freehanding: try subtractive freehanding. In other words, paints the symbol you want, but don't worry about being sloopy. Then clean it up with your background color. It always works a million times better for me when I do it that way.
