kharn_the_betrayer
As most people might gather from notes I've made in the Custode topic I finally have a chance to read Nemisis. Now I'm not going to debate the book (although I am enjoying it so I'm happy about that) I do have an odd question. Who gets first crack at those with a pariah gene the Celexus Assasins or the Sisters of Silence? I could see how each would divide by gender but I was wondering if anyone had some insight on this as Iota is clearly female. Any ideas? Frogstaff
Given how rare they are, I imagine it'd be whoever finds them first. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220788-who-gets-first-crack-at-the-pariahs/#findComment-2637000 Share on other sites
Sons of Horus
Maybe they undergo training first before being sorted according to skill. The sisters of silence are more of a combat force while assassins are obviously solitary beings. Fluff doesn't say anything specific though IIRC Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220788-who-gets-first-crack-at-the-pariahs/#findComment-2637415 Share on other sites
Billuriye
Sisters are blanks not pariahs. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220788-who-gets-first-crack-at-the-pariahs/#findComment-2637765 Share on other sites
Frogstaff
That's the same thing. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220788-who-gets-first-crack-at-the-pariahs/#findComment-2637917 Share on other sites
Billuriye
But sisters are never shown to use their powers as Culexus do. They sever the connection to the warp by just existing. Doesn't that classify them as Blanks? Khestra the Unbeheld
But sisters are never shown to use their powers as Culexus do. They sever the connection to the warp by just existing. Doesn't that classify them as Blanks? Sisters aren't trained to hone their "power" into an offensive weapon, either, whereas Culexus Temple assassins are. I'd say it's a first-come, first-served basis on who gets dibs on discovered pariah genecarriers. Brother Styphus
Pariahs have no soul, and the warp doesn't like that. Blanks are the same, except that they project an aura. As for potency, compare them to a Zoanthrope's old warp blast power. You have your blanks, who are of moderate strength and cover a small area. Then you have the pariahs who are extremely potent, but are concentrated. Sons of Horus
uhm where did you read that? is there a source? As far as I know Pariahs and Blanks are exactly the same. Same thing but several names (pariah, blank, null, etc.). Trel
Yeah, I thought they were at different points of a common spectrum. To wit, they range from having little to no warp presence, to being gaping holes in the warp that eat hope. Or they may be the same thing, but just technologically enhanced to improve the effects of their powers. Kizzdougs
I also thought that Blanks and Pariahs were the same thing. 'Blanks' is just a crude term used by common Imperial citizens to describe those with the Pariah gene. Kind of like how mutants are known as 'Twists' or when psykers refere to 'normal' citizens as 'Blunts'. Pariahs are also none as untouchables.
