mercury
I have seen various people recommending the use of micro pens for fine detail and freehand work. I was wondering what brand of pen is best to use and where to get them from? I live in the UK. Br0ther Rafen
Hey guys So, I want to get a Mirco Pen to use for painting (scrolls, banners, freehanding, etc), and I was wondering where can I buy them? I've had a look around, but I can't really find any. Also, just a quick check, do you only just have to add paint and go, or are there more steps to make it work? Thanks for any help in advance Rafen Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220801-micro-pens/#findComment-2636871 Share on other sites
Br0ther Rafen
Just in case you guys don't know what I am talking about, here is a link to a guy using one He uses one at 2.15 seconds. Debauchery101
i think most liner pens are found in hobby and craft stores that have drawing/drafting supplies. the ones i use are a brand called Micron. i use .005 size. Boltergeist
I've found them in the scrapbooking section of craft stores before. They are self contained pens, so no additional paint needed, although it does limit your color choice some. Also, I've found that the ink/paint tends to smudge without a sealer coat over it. It's not a huge deal but worth keeping in mind. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220801-micro-pens/#findComment-2637671 Share on other sites
Solid Zaku
I swear by my Sakura Micron .005. Bewlay
I need to know, will they work on any colour? I want to do some free hand work on my NL, but due to the darkness of the paint scheme the marker doesn't show up, are there any alternatives? ZombyWoof
I just got a Elmer's extra fine gold paint marker to try out on my Ultra SM 2nd Co trim etc. You can call it cheating, but I'll call it a necessity. Paint markers FTW! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220801-micro-pens/#findComment-2639874 Share on other sites
Chapter Master Kanithon
I'm having this same problem right now. I think in the UK the only 0.05 pen you can find easy is black. I have found a brand called Prismacolor who do a 8 pack set of 0.05 makers. However, they're not easily available in the UK. But I've found that you can find them on the American ebay, search prismacolor illustration markers extra fine. Just be prepared to pay silly shipping prices if you can find them. I've found a few other sites that sell them in the US if you want me to give you the links, just let me know =] how that helps, Kanithon Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220801-micro-pens/#findComment-2640496 Share on other sites
