painting Microarts: Temple bases

Hail brothers

I have recently got my hands on some of these temple bases (both for tacticals and a single dreadnought).

However, I don't know how to paint them. I'm still somewhat new in the hobby, so even basic advice is appriciated (I won't put the mini on the base before painting it though, no worries).

I'm thinking that I want the same beige/sand-ish colour that they have on the picture - does anyone know how I achieve this?

Thanks a lot!

If you are new to the hobby, bases are a good place to learn basic painting techniques like drybrushing and washes. Errors don't show up as badly and can be corrected more easily. There are lots of tutorials around for those techniques if you aren't familiar with them.

For that look I'd probably use either bubonic brown or desert yellow as the base color, wash with charadon granite, then drybrush with the basecolor again followed by either dheneb stone or bleached bone.

I'm not that new :P I've tried the basic painting techniques, it just isn't the main thing in the hobby for me.

I've been peering at the desert yellow with a wash of wonder mud (devlan) and some bleached bone (all drybrushed). A friend of mine suggested khremri brow, a heavy drybrush of Desert yellow and a light drybrush with bleached bone, but I just think that goes slightly too grey and too dark.
