ringlancer
Hi folks! I'm working on a DIY chapter and my paint scheme is in need of some help. I am committed to this paint scheme so I need to make what I have work, not redo. My colors are light blue and yellow. My yellow is yellow ink over white primer. my blue is ice blue over white primer. I like the brightness of the models but they are a little...thin I guess. I am looking for some suggestions for ink/washes to add some gravitas to my paint scheme. I don't want to go too grungy with a dark black wash though. Suggestions? Citadel stuff only, please. Thanks! Boltergeist
Hmm that's tricky because you don't have much contrast to work with. I'd suggest a thinned Asurmen Blue wash around the joints/seams (i.e. only those, not over the entirety of the blue), and shade the yellow with thinned Snakebite leather. That will add some shading and also an orange-ish brown that should go well with the blue. Br0ther Rafen
I'm guessing your scheme is your avatar? not bad, I like it. Anyway, a wash of Asurmen Blue in the crevice's and such should work. If it looks to dark, add just a touch of Skull White to make the wash a bit brighter. Aside from this, maybe you can darken the light blue a litle with a wash possibly? it's what I have done with my Space Wolves, and they look great without the fluroscent (really bright) baby blue.
