KronosAkallach
My competitive side says no to shotgun scouts, but never wins over the urge to just have some cool looking models in my army. I am thinking of adding 5 scouts with close combat weapons to the group to finish it off. Hoping posting will help motivate me to finish more models. Kurb
Funny story. As I have said in many threads I am pretty new. In one of my earlier games I had a group of scouts outflank. Just a handful of them. They show up like turn 4 and beeline for some longfangs. I'm out of range to charge so I start pumping lead into them. Squad was 3 shotties, 3 Bolt Pistol and CC weap, and 1 hvy Bolter. Bolt pistols all miss. 6 shotty blasts turn into 4 wounds and 3 miss saves. Long Fangs book arse off the board  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220991-shotgun-scouts-finally-finished/#findComment-2639139 Share on other sites
Redfinger
Those look really nice, my only suggestions would be a little more depth on the faces, right now the highlights look a little muted, some eyeballs would look nice as well. Great work though!! Ashton Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220991-shotgun-scouts-finally-finished/#findComment-2639144 Share on other sites
Chairman_woo
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks scouts look coolest with those rather sexeh shotguns! Makes perfect sense as a scout weapon too reminds me of a training bolter, given that full astartes boltguns are both relatively valuble, hard to maintain and difficult to weild (relatively speaking!) it figures you would only break out the propper bolters when they have earned it (which given the standards of marine training could be a while). Cheap, light, dependable and addaptable (fluff ammo variations) makes it the (fluff) default weapon for a scout squad. Only when they have mastered their mighty shotties do they move on to master BP & CCW and ultimately the humble but mighty boltgun itself! Looking nice BTW that sgt. really looks the part Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220991-shotgun-scouts-finally-finished/#findComment-2639171 Share on other sites
Demoulius
shotgun scouts are awesome  theyre a pretty decent fire support squad. even more so because they can charge after dishing out the same amount of shots as a bolter squad :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/220991-shotgun-scouts-finally-finished/#findComment-2639295 Share on other sites
