Kreon
Even though my Wolves have seen a couple of iterations since I began, the one thing that has stayed constant is my theme of my Wolves as Raiders and Varangians. So now I've determined to build a Loganwing force with some supporting Fangs and Hunters, and just for fluff purposes I want to differentiate my different packs from each other. Fluffwise, the units are divided based on their ship of origin. For example, the crew of Fenrir in Chains bear a wolf head with a chain on their shoulder and the crew of Huginn's Flight bear a Raven. (The Symbol of the entire force is a Wolf over a Laurel) So my challenge to you all is to help me come up with some Norse symbols that can easily be painted on by hand. I plan to use the symbols of the Valknut and Mjolnir, but any others would be appreciated. lothbrok
you could use odins eye. its basicully just a snipers crosshairs. or any of the rune particularly if you combined them to form bind-runes. Grey Mage
Each of my packs has a single rune from the Elder Futhark as their symbol. Wolf Gaurd get two in a unique combination. Characters other than the Wolf Lord get 3. Kreon
Yeah I've considered using runes to some degree (especially Tyr/Tiwaz), but I'd much prefer to use non-runic symbols. Plague Angel
On a slightly more tangential note, I wouldn't use the Laurel. Too Greek for me. More relevantly, if you want to avoid runes, perhaps a bloody hand? And I believe one of the great companies has a wolf devouring the sun already, but you could do a variation: perhaps a leaping wolf chasing the setting sun, making an arch shape. Though that may be too hard to paint. Since you seem open to using other animals if you have a raven, perhaps a goat and a whip to represent Thor's chariot. Br0ther Rafen
Here you go On there, you can see some easy-to-paint symbols that look cool. Some other suggestions: Crossed bones with a normal wolve's head above them (not a skull) Swiping claw(s) at something (possibly bone) Hope this helps Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221034-viking-enthusiasts-need-help-with-some-symbols/#findComment-2639797 Share on other sites

Kreon
On a slightly more tangential note, I wouldn't use the Laurel. Too Greek for me. Laurel stays. My force is Varangian themed, and in my fluff they won great honors in service alongside the Ultramarines 3rd Company.
