BrotherTim
As stated, this is my first WIP thread and is also my first attempt in conversion with plasticard and greenstuff. I was inspired by the generally hated novel series, Duse Sang. Please let me know what you think about it and I will be updating pictures as I paint. mega_marines
Lovin it, man! Definitely digging the Spear Of Tolesto on Sanguinor. I'm wondering how you'll plan to paint him up, and what methods you'll use. BrotherTim
I have nearly completed the jump pack; I will have pics up later today. I started with a few washes of griffin sepia (think that’s what it's called). Once the base is dry, i used a very watered down tin bitz (1:3 paint to water) for the recesses and shadows. I used burnished gold for final coat on the armor, and while metallic paints do a good job of shading and highlighting themselves, I have found this technique adds a little more depth to the overall color. For the wings, i start with a base of codex gray, highlighted with space wolf gray and accented with skull white. The blood drops are based with red gore, followed by blood red and accented with skull white. I'll update with more as i progress, thanks for the positive feedback! BrotherTim
As promised, here is an update on the jump pack. Please let me know what you guys think; I know I am a far cry from professional, but this is prob some of my best :P My multi-metallic layering helps the gold to appear aged, or thats the effect I was going for anyway. Thanks for looking! Is it too late to count this as a vov for the BA boards? **edit-my apologies for the double post. DarKHaZZ13
Your looking for a more aged look right? I thik you've got a nice one going on there.. might I suggest throwing a devlan mud wash over it? and then re-highlighting it...I reckon it with add a bit more depth and will look splendid :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221042-brothertims-wip/#findComment-2654950 Share on other sites
Till
Looks good. I like the wings and shoulders. The spear is a little bent may look better if it was straightened.
