Tulkas
I was just wondering, since the GW site doesnt show the sprues, is the new Land Raider box able to do 3 different kind of sponsons, to allow for all the weapon options, or do I really have to dedicate myself to one wargear option with it. Any insight to what I'd find inside the box would be really appreciated. Cheers! Whitefireinferno
If you have a pred it has similar sponsoons just slightly smaller If you want all 3 the Best way would be to Buy the LR"godhammer/Las cannon one" and the Crusader Sprue gives you all 3 weapon options and is fully do able with magnets. The standard LR box builds a GodHammer raider with the option for a storm bolter and HK missile, the Crusader/Redeemer box gives you parts for the Hurricane bolters and flame cannons and assualt cannons( it does not contain the Las Cannons or Heavy bolters) with options for stormbolter, HK missile and multi melta. I have 4 LR's currently( 2 of which are all convertable to one extent or the other and one that can be any of 4 variants) and have done to many to count for comission so the following is all from my experience so you mileage may vary. The best option purchase wise in my opinion is a Standard LR kit and a Crusader/reedemer conversion kit from GW. That gives you all the weapons for all 3 versions with 2 sets of sponsons. While you can magnetize about anything I found having dedicated swappable magnitized sponsons with the weapons fixed far easier to do and far more durable. Hellios
Land Raider = £38.50 (Phobos pattern) Crusader Sprue = £12.30 (Crusader and Redeemer pattern) Terminus Ultra sprue = £11.25 (Terminus Ultra pattern) The abillity to make all of the none FW land raider varients.... PRICELESS! (well I lie... you have to make your own Ares pattern) But seriously that is around £60... one imagines the FW Helios kit could be used on the same Land Raider for £15.30 (overall it would be cheaper to buy the complete kit which is about £44 as I think that has all the normal land raider bits and is cheaper than buying a normal land raider + conversion kit)... However that is 5 land raider patterns for ~£70... The Achilles, Prometheus and Ares all have a different front among other things and so would require more work and I would guess it would be easier to have individual models for each of those.
