Plague Angel
pretty much the battleforce isn't really for the internet savvy, Didn't think of this, but you're absolutely right. I'm not sure what it means. It could mean anything from "knowing where to find good deals and get models cheap," to "doesn't play the kind of lists the internet has decided are good," or something else. I'm not sure what it means. It could mean anything from "knowing where to find good deals and get models cheap," to "doesn't play the kind of lists the internet has decided are good," or something else. means you can buy the minis cheaper if you are savvy. or you can sell the ones you don't want to make it even cheaper... (if you can be bothered to sell minis online, i trade some of my stuff people need for stuff i need but don't sell) but you could buy the same sets for 20% easy, you could buy this box sex at 20% off... asfargone
okay, i'm going budget-wise so i'll print some pictures of the sm pieces i want and stick them on note holders, but if it's not enough i'll get some lego dudes and just put a char-sheet on their backs. you know, if you want to do it, go ahead it's a fine thing to do, but if you mind the expense check codex and find several prominent load-outs that have relatively the same units and can sum up to a reasonable point value for all-around play. then just order it all with your money rectangle. Brother Dallo
I am considering buying this for my Knights of Blood army. Buying on the web can give me 20% off (possibly more but I have never seen more than 20% off for BNIB). The individual boxes cost approx £82.50 from memory, but the boxset with discount is £48 which is a good saving. If I do get it, I will use it as a 10 man assault squad (JP) and a 10 man rhino mounted assault squad (extra CCW from my bitz box). Personally I think it is worth it if you go via internet discounts and particularly want a rhino. If not you probably are better served buying individual boxes you want. d503
I recommend dark sphere too. They can ship GW products to china in a week, and still do it cheaper than GWs official RRP. I have used them a lot and have never had a sniff of trouble. 25% off is a damn good saving. Emperors Immortals
Same, i run a DoA army usually, 4 RAS JP squads plus support, but i always try to include one full tac squad in a rhino to take objectives and free up my RAS for what it should be doing - teaming up against xxeno scum. Plague Angel
Objective camping TacSquads with Rhinos are great. Depending on the opponent, I've even been known to have a Priest hang back with them. They aren't Plague Marines or anything, but Tacs with FNP can be pretty resilient against some armies. And in such cases, I tend to take a plasma cannon over the missile launcher, since I have some protection from it overheating. Brother Biskit
Model wise I think the Battleforce is ok. With a bit of rejigging you can make a fairly flexible force with two of them. Value wise it stinks. In comparison with the wolf and SM boxes it has less models, less equivalent value and casts nearly £10 more. How can GW justify that. I'm probably going to avoid it, I'd rather spend the extra on a SM Battleforce and a DC box. Whitefireinferno
Not worth it for Me since My flesh Tearers Lack Parts from the DC/Sangguard boxes due to not meeting my View of the FT's So If I were to buy one it would be the Nilla Marine one and a Blister of JPs Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221067-ba-battleforceis-it-really-worth-it/page/2/#findComment-2641342 Share on other sites
DarkMark
I'm probably going to avoid it, I'd rather spend the extra on a SM Battleforce and a DC box. This is what I think too. The big price increase in price, over other battleforces, kills the deal. If it were priced the same as the standard marine box it'd be a reasonable box. The box will be good for new BA players, in general not cookie cutter net lists types :) , parents, and relatives to pick up as easy presents. 4/10 for GW. :o Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221067-ba-battleforceis-it-really-worth-it/page/2/#findComment-2641769 Share on other sites
