Element 3c: Markings Part III

A

s strict adherents of the Codex Astartes, the Obsidian Hunters display squad affiliation on the right shoulder pad, using the badges prescribed by the Roboute Guilliman in his magnum opus. Through the displaying of these badges, battle-brothers can see at a glance whether a battle-brother is a member of a Tactical, Assault, or Devastator squad. In addition, the Veterans of the Chapter, those members that have been inducted into the prestigious First Company and whose exploits are legend, are instantly recognizable by their distinctive heraldry.

This element will be determined by a simple voting process. While the Codex allows for some variation, we’re going to follow established patterns and require certain things to be represented. I’m largely following the variation allowed by Insignium Astartes here, though with updates based on 4th edition and beyond ‘Eavy Metal practices. We won’t prescribe specific badges, allowing players flexibility in representing the various squad types and the choices of commanders.

Voting: Members may vote for each aspect of Marking in the polls. Voting will end on Tuesday, 1 February 2011 (which means I’ll accept anything I receive prior to the first time I login on Wednesday, 2 February :) ).
