UpTheIron
After having my head turned by the scorpions, am well underway with my first new project in 10 years. I bought the battleforce as a starter, and am about to tackle the scouts. Anyone got any ideas on incorporating the yellow and grey, without them looking like they're wearing yellow leotards? I've had a search and can't find any examples of painted RS scouts. Thanks in advance. Race Bannon
I'm not the authority. But without anything "official" then it really is up to you. BUT, having been there, I tackled the issue myself. The only thing I came up with was to paint the armored bitz on the boots yellow. The armored torso and gauntlets were the dark grey, shoulders and boots black, and soft armor white (or a REALLY light grey and was going to use white highlights. I don't have time to use the painter now and I deleted my efforts when I settled away from the Scorpions. :P But that's what I was going to do :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221193-red-scorpion-scouts-help/#findComment-2641511 Share on other sites
UpTheIron
Thanks for that, food for thought. I wouldn't really have had any scouts, but they were in the box, so may as well try them. I was thinking something similar after seeing a lot of smurfmarines done White with blue accompaniment, I'll see what I can come up with. Aqui
I'm no expert on the current range of GW paints, but there used to be a shade of brown which was closer to yellow (sorta like a mustard) Perhaps that could be used as the base (if it's still in range....) and then highlight upwards to a shade that you like? Killian Doyle
I'd personally go with charcoal grey armor, and black shoulders with a vertical yellow stripe. As for clothes I'll try off white or bone. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221193-red-scorpion-scouts-help/#findComment-2641652 Share on other sites
Grizzly_bear
what if you painted all the armour bits in dark gray and had the chest symbol painted a dull yellow and have a dark, bone colour for the trousers?
