bloodangelsplayer
so the idea is to have a scouting unit of sternguard. these guys will be dropped in a drop pod. all the shoulder pads are fists on the right and crux on the left. so on the display board im going to make im thinking ill have dude with the auspex up front telling everyone to hold up. then the dude with the bolter and knife pointing at the dude kneeling finishing off some foo then sgt will get thrown into the mix somewhere. this is what i have so far i am in need of some more creative poses cause i need 10 total. thanks for looking http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/bloodangelsplayer/IMG_20110130_211204.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/bloodangelsplayer/IMG_20110130_212912.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/bloodangelsplayer/IMG_20110131_104454.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/bloodangelsplayer/IMG_20110131_143202.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/bloodangelsplayer/IMG_20110131_160459.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/bloodangelsplayer/IMG_20110131_160510.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221222-plastic-sternguard/ Share on other sites

jester_prince
Aiming? Reloading? What about hopping over a low wall or climbing onto rubble to get a height advantage? xscottfergox
If you've ever played gears of war the way they sprint would be interesting if you could capture it. Shuttle running I think it's called Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221222-plastic-sternguard/#findComment-2641948 Share on other sites
bloodangelsplayer
I like the running idea would be a bit complicated and I don't know if it would fit with everyone climbing things. But just did another guy that is kneeling on a rock ledge he will be aiming I think. I like the climbing for a better view might have to try that one. Will post as I go. Comabat Apothecary
Nice conversion with the multi melta to heavy flamer - simple but effective, looks like he has *plenty* of promethium on that back pack! bloodangelsplayer
squads all done now. here are the last few pictures tell me what you think. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/bloodangelsplayer/IMG_20110204_005753.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/bloodangelsplayer/IMG_20110203_220748.jpg i like the second heavy flamer i made. i used the dreadnaught heavy flamer vs the terminator one i think the dread one looks better. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/bloodangelsplayer/IMG_20110204_005744.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/bloodangelsplayer/IMG_20110204_005813.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/bloodangelsplayer/IMG_20110204_005736.jpg and last the squad all together Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221222-plastic-sternguard/#findComment-2647005 Share on other sites
Zeller
These are awesome sternguard. The HF idea is great as well. I've got to kick myself for not using the ornate bolter. *sigh* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221222-plastic-sternguard/#findComment-2647183 Share on other sites
bloodangelsplayer
I actually ran out of the ornate bolters. Had a buddy that's got a bunch but he is too far away and I wanted to finish these guys so the 3 combi meltas are regular bolters. The heavy flamer idea came from another buddy of mine. If I were to do it again I would use the heavy flamer from the dreadnaught on both of them but I like that it looks different too. The only think that pisses me off is the fact that with the sgt chest piece and the multi melta backpack you can't fit a helmet. I believe that all marines should have there helmets on in a battle situation but just me. Other then that I like the way they turned out and haven't wasted any time painting them should be done next week or so will post finished pictures. Thanks for the compliments -H Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221222-plastic-sternguard/#findComment-2647190 Share on other sites
Comabat Apothecary
have you seen the terminator HF to sternguard conversions? Those also look *awesome* When I get the bitz, I might use one of each.... But I've got far too many models to paint before I make any more anyway ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221222-plastic-sternguard/#findComment-2658643 Share on other sites

Slyen
Havn't seen it either. In any case I think these look pretty good. Some of the poses seem odd though to me, mainly its the vet with the Auspex. His other arm just seems positioned odd and wrong to me. Then again I think I am going to do my own variation of it. As for the heavy flamer, well I perfer the Terminator muzzle on it. Looks more fitting to me than the other one. Hope to see some paint on these guys next!
