Tro_lee boy
Hi B+C I have been playing a fair few games against a tau player and am having trouble. He has 3 broadsides on the way as well as 2 crisis suits (plasma rifle and Fusion blaster) I think the best way to deal with it would be a 4 meltagun honour guard with jump packs but don't know how to build such a squad. How would you suggest getting all the peices for this squad on the cheap. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221234-honour-guard/ Share on other sites

Emperors Immortals
Buy the meltas or just extend the barrel of a bolter and add a bit to the side, sorry no link but its simple. Id tend to buy SG torsos and JP's from ebay and add them to any legs you have at hand, alternativly just pick up an assault squad box and paint the helmets gold and add white trim for the SP.(remember to add lots of purity seals, the Grimdark runs on purity seals and death). Personally i take all plasma against my friends mech tau and its more then enough, though of course melta is safer (but you do have an inbuilt priest there) :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221234-honour-guard/#findComment-2642123 Share on other sites
d503
I find the best thing to use against tau is an artillery piece like a whirlwind. They will either deep strike the crisis suits next to it, meaning you can get them with a pre-planned counter, or ignore it and it can shell the merry hell out of the crisis suits after they hide. Knowing their crisis suits can't hide is a real thorn in a tau player's side.
