Alternative Land Speeder model?

All right. As I've been perusing how to best create a fast-assault/Wheeled-assault Wolf force, I came across this little conversion on ... A well-known auction site (I'm not certain I can say the name without risking Mod intervention.)

ON EDIT: I can't seem to post the picture itself, so... I guess I have to offer up a link.

Space Wolf Buggy-style Speeder

While I think the front cab is a bit too far forward and would need some bulking up, how do people feel about this particular model or type of conversion? More importantly, how would you, my fellow Wolves, accept seeing such a model on the board instead of a genuine Land Speeder? (I tend to take "Fight with their feet on the ground" fairly strictly in terms of Skimmers, et cetera. To me, Speeders just don't seem... Wolfy.)

In terms of rules, I have no problem about giving up certain "Speeder" benefits, like ignoring intervening terrain, as a houserule. I guess my question is; Would you allow this as a Counts As, or is it too far gone in terms of Conversions (as speeders must be mounted on their base for determining LOS, et cetera)?

I love me some landspeeders. I like their fluff, and I think the 'feet on the ground' bit is overdone. We have a space fleet that would make a segmentum fleet flinch, so whats the problem?

Anyways...

I like it. Its a cool conversion. Ive seen similar things thrown down before and not once a complaint.... as long as it was obvious it was NOT an attack bike. LOS isnt an issue here- it goes both ways, and I have a pair of speeders on short bases from 4rth ed- theyre probly only about 3mm higher than that puppy. Nor should you give up any rules- its a counts-as model, the rules dont chance just the package got prettier *in the eye of the beholder anyways*.

So have fun, enjoy.

There was an tutorial on here a couple of years ago, I will try to find it because I think I saved the thread. Schertenleib beat me too it, as redemption here is the link to the tutorial he made http://bobpanda.de/warhammer/projects/wart...ldlog-tutorial/ .
I like the coversion. Also like the Death Hunters by Bob Panda.

I'm all over those Death Hunters :)

Does anyone know what the actual model car is for those is so that I can get one (or 3)

That Was Amusing, Thanks!

Actually, the original buggy conversion was done for the VDR rules when they first came out ...many moons ago...IIRC...will have to get out my CA set and check them...for a date but am pretty sure that conversion has been around for quite a few years...

They all look great! and I use to love working/converting minis and using many parts outside of GW range. I changed that train of thought/habit after.. just didn't want to run across certain people who have issues with non GW product on tournaments. Since then, I tried to keep most of my work within the GW range. That said, those worthogs are awesome! I've always wanted to do it.

Anyway, here are a few ideas that may be good for alternative land speeders.
