Mamma says I'm an artist

Hey all, fair-time viewer reporting. I've been refraining myself from posting, but alas, days of watching work of art after work of art being posted in these forums has cracked my shell. So, I've decided to bring to analysis some of my 40k drawings to date, from the first to the latest (Disclaimer: I don't remember which one is the latest, so I'll leave the best for last).

Honestly, I hadn't noticed it had been so long since I'd drawn 40k. I do have some more pieces in the oven and head, so it shouldn't be too long until I update this thread.

Until then, I'm all for comments and critique. I have a real hard time getting dynamic poses for characters in power armour, so do counsel me.

Thanks for checking.

Very nice stuff I must say! However, your pieces seem to lack a lot of shading, I mean, there is tonal changes here and there to show different colours, but there isn't much in the way of shadow and lighting. If you added this it would definitely give the pieces more 'oomph'.

Keep up the good work though :)

Thanks, everyone. My linework is a bit cleaner, now. I try to go with a realist and detailed style, but I prefer heavier proportions in space marines. I've been havin ideas for a Blood Angels successor chapter which I'll try and put on the paper soon. Thank you, once again.

PS: Called GW, told them I had some weapon designs. They said they couldn't hear me over my mom's laughter.

Nice work Greyall! Mockery can be a great motivator I see :(

You have a really good linework and your detailing is amazing!

I agree with Bloodhowl in terms of the shading, took me years to listen to my art teachers and start working on it, and damn they were right!

But take your time and develop your style, that's the most important :)

My favorite = Angron

Great looking work!

If you were looking for C&C, the two things that stuck out to me was that perhaps Tarik's sword arm, in regards to the elbow, might be slightly off - with the bend/angle of the arm, I feel we should see less of the elbow pad as it should be more behind. The second is his bolter, which seems thin.

As noted, these armor designer are amazing and very creative. I especially like the touch of leafiness to Flugrim's shoulder pad.

Really impressive stuff. Really dig your design for pre-heresy Khârn, way more intimidating then other art I've seen of it. My only complaints about it would be that he looks really small, and his axe arm looks odd. I agree with the others that shading would make this exponentially more awesome. The detail is amazing on these, but I found some stuff would run together and shading may help that. You got some serious talent.
