Kassill
So, as many of you know from my earlier post in the Amicus Aedes, my friend Daryl Bugbee has passed on. He was a hobbyist and friend. I want to do a model for him, and give it to his family whenever we take a trip up north. My general idea is to have a fallen marine being lifted up to heaven by an angel. But, I have never done anything like this, and have no clue where to begin! Thoughts on my idea? Yay or nay? And has anyone done anything similar? As far as chapter, I was figuring Blood Angels would be the obvious choice, but I may do something else. Thoughts and ideas welcome. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221411-model-in-remembrance-of-my-friend/ Share on other sites
Vindicatus
There are several 'fallen marine' terrain pieces available in bits and pieces through Games Workshop. The angel? Snag a Celestine, the Living Saint and some Tzeetch Demon feathered wings (or take a look around at some sculpting sites, I'm sure you can find something suitably epic) and model on some arms so that her forearms are forward, palms up to carry him. Br0ther Rafen
I think the Sanquinor would also be perfect for this. Just depends on what gender you want your Angel to be. As for the fallen Marine, Linkage Those would be perfect I reckon. KaosRaptor
^ My first thought was the Sanguinor too. Replace the chalice/sword hands, and possibly paint it in white/silver. I figure the Sanguinor's pose would show him "ascending"...if that's something you want to go for. ImperialReaper
Definitely YEY! I like the Idea much and encourage you to go with it! I would however not stick to the sanguinor because I think to carry the fallen marine the angel needs some modifications to the pose which if find somehow difficoult with tin models. So I could also recommend the sanguinary Guard. They also hav a wide range of poses and arms, which should make the project more easy for you. Kassill
So, I think I found about what Im looking for! This model here by Reaper really is pretty close to what I imagined in my head http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/angel/sku-down/65078 I'd have to repose her arms and totally repose the marine but I think it could work. Thanks again for all the help guys. Not sure when exactly I'll be able to start this project, but I promise I will start a WIP thread. Emperors Immortals
This may be a little ambitious, but if you have time (youll certainly have help right here on BC) - why not a version of Michelangelos Pieta, it could be done with a C'tan model and a bit of green stuff. How long do you have? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221411-model-in-remembrance-of-my-friend/#findComment-2646982 Share on other sites
