Nias Wolf
The rules for Warhammer 40,000 seem to be scattered all over the place. What with the core rule books, expansions, Forge World stuff, and an unending stream of pdfs, I'd like to make sure I've got a handle on it. I'd like to know what is current, what is outdated, and what is only available on the internet. Please tell me if this list is complete, I'd like to write down a complete list for reference. Core: Warhammer 40,000 rule book Witch Hunters / Daemon Hunters rule books (semi-available on-line) Supplementary: Imperial Guard rule book Standard Space Marine rule book Additional Units: Imperial Armor updates (from Forge World) Expansions: Apocalypse rule book Apocalypse Reload rule book Additional Apocalypse datasheets available here Spearhead datasheets available here Planet Strike rule book Cities of Death rule book Planetary Empires rule book Battle Missions rule book (still current?) This is all the stuff I could find. I'm under the assumption that the old expansion system (Eye of Terror, Armageddon) and "chapter aproved" things are no longer viable? Death Watch has also been phased out yet? As for the stuff printed in White Dwarf, thats just bonus missions correct? I don't think white dwarf has printed anything relevent to WH or DH for a few years now. I also remember downloading some stuff back when I played Nurgle marines (Lost and the Damned pdf), but that seems to have been rolled into Apocalypse, and the isn't anything like that for Wh or DH right!? What about "fanatics" units... I've heard them mentioned, but can't find the rules and don't think they're currently usable. Anyway, please look this over and tell me what I need to add, or if I'm incorrect anywhere. With so many rules, spread out over so many mediums, it's awfully hard for someone to try and get back into the game! I know I've said this before, but you fellow forum users are like tech priest devoted to managing the rules! You're all awesome, and I'm in a lot of debt. Fredegar Kadere
White Dwarf Issue 292 (US): Provides background lore on the 3rd Edition 'Witch Hunters'/ Sisters of Battle and rules for using Zealots. Includes a how to paint guide and pictures of custom retinues. White Dwarf Issue 304 (UK): Provides rules for Inquisitor Gideon Lorr and rules for using Zealots (reprint of the rules in the US 292 issue) and includes a guide to creating/modelling Zealots. I do not believe Lorr or the Zealots are tournament worthy since 5th edition rolled out.
