Tulkas
Here they are. I might add more fur bits or whatnots from the Space Wolf box. Hope you enjoy. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad184/matnoane/Space%20Wolves/P2050015.jpg Btw the cobweb looking shizzle under his chin is gone now. Only noticed it when I uploaded the image. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad184/matnoane/Space%20Wolves/P2050012.jpg I might just swap heads between the guy above and the guy below. Not sure yet. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad184/matnoane/Space%20Wolves/P2050014.jpg http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad184/matnoane/Space%20Wolves/P2050013.jpg http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad184/matnoane/Space%20Wolves/P2050011.jpg http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad184/matnoane/Space%20Wolves/P2050010.jpg http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad184/matnoane/Space%20Wolves/P2050009.jpg Tips on using regular GH heads for Scouts: Trim down the neck ball to a similar size as the Scouts neck. They'll look freakish if you don't and it's real easy with a clipper and a sharp knive to trim it down. Some heads are GH heads and some are plastic Marauder Horseman heads. What do you think? Valerian
The models look fine, but I wonder about the choice of weapons. Why the Bolters (and even Sniper Rifle)? I always include Scouts, but they armed for close combat: walk on the board behind enemy lines and shoot Bolt Pistols, Melta Gun, Plasma Pistol, and Combi-Melta, then charge right in. Tulkas
Yeah, that's really a matter of fluff. I've got a story planned on how SW and CL work together. And in the fluff one of the scouts has a sniper rifle. I just made a sixth scout with a power weapon to replace him when I'm not using the sniper. More pictures will be posted soon (although a bit smaller) of the finished conversions. I managed to change a few things quite nicely IMO these last few hours. Okay, here are a few more images. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad184/matnoane/40K/P2050009.jpg The converted Sniper. I didn't want a regular sniper rifle for him. Then I found an old Kroot barrel and my day was made. A Bolter clip to replace the power cable and finish. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad184/matnoane/40K/P2050011.jpg http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad184/matnoane/40K/P2050013.jpg Two shots of these two guys and their added Wolfbits. I think they worked out quite well. http://i934.photobucket.com/albums/ad184/matnoane/40K/P2050012.jpg This last shot shows the others with added pouches and knives. I think they're finished. The Son of Russ
I really like them. You have jsut shown me that it is important to decorate your models with tails and such, they look great! Also i like the added knives on their backs. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221600-some-simple-wolf-scouts/#findComment-2648042 Share on other sites

Sven Dragonfire
I realy like these, and love the use of the marauder heads. i have seen these heads used on wolves before and having seen yours I think I'll give it a go. Im interested to see how you paint the helmeted marauder heads. The same colour as their armour?, metalic? or I was thinking possibly a leather colour (brown/tan, think black might look a bit gimpy lol) Ties in with the Pre heresy blurb of the wolves wearing leather masks?? Look forward to seeing these guys painted up. Love the sniper rifle, though I do have my current scouts kitted for close combat and as previously stated, works a real treat. Nice work. Tulkas
About the masks: I indeed plan to paint them leathery. I see them either as protection (the melta guy nearly had a plasmagun) from their weaponry, or simply from the elements. I might do something cool with them, like sharks-teeth like you see on Fighter jets sometime, but I'm not sure yet. If you're going for the Marauder heads, my tip is to trim the neck-ball a little, or else they just look weird. It's pretty doable. Mind you I clipped off the horns and whatnots, as I see that too Chaosy, or too Vikingy, both of which are -badword-. On the plastic colours, they are from multiple kits. One of my Scout kits is dark grey, the other is pale-near-white grey Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221600-some-simple-wolf-scouts/#findComment-2649923 Share on other sites
