Below is my DIY Angels Revenant (basicaly means returned spirit or ghost). I am working on the right "format" for the IA and getting pictures of the symbol and armor design.

ORIGINS

The origins of the Angels Revenant Chapter start with the planet of Hoya in the Segmentum Ultima. The Chapter was formed to assist the Death Spectres’ watch over the Ghoul Stars. The Death Spectres were requested by Imperial personnel and dispatched to the planet to squash the civil war as well as establish a base so the Imperium could start mining/harvesting operations on the planets vast amounts of resources. Upon arrival the Death Spectres found the main reason of the civil war was due to chaotic cults being established and raging war with the Emperors’ followers. With the arrival of the Death Spectres, the tribes of the Hoya saw them as the returned ghost warriors of legend that would unite the planet and lead it into a golden age of prosperity. The Death Spectres quickly dispatched the cultist but were surprised by an Ork army from Bork that invaded. After the defeat of the Orks, Sgt Charlo of the Scout SQ found catacombs, containing mysterious metal corpuses. The area was brought under investigation on which the metal zombies awoke.

After the war with the Necrons the area investigated and found a terrible threat lay hidden in the planet as well as others. The catacombs were sealed off and ordered demolished. The Captain of the Death Spectre’s 4th CO, Granton DeValion, oversaw the original mission to Hoya as well as led the battle against the Orks and Necrons. Due to the topography of Hoya which was many islands of various sizes he tailored his fighting force to use the skies to control the war on his terms. He employed many Assault SQs, Landspeeder SQs and Thunderhawk gunships to move the Tactical, Devastator and other less mobile units. He was one of the first to employ the Landspeeder as a means to place Scout SQs in better positions to gather information and sabotage Ork resources.

Captain Granton DeValion was honored with becoming a Chapter Master for a new chapter of marines. When the 14th Founding was established The Death Spectres and AM assisted Master DeValion in receiving his first installment of marines and equipment.

HOMEWORLD

The planet of Hoya is a huge water planet with many islands of various types and sizes. The waters are not navigable due to the many obstacles such as hurricanes, massive rain and wind storms, whirlpools and jagged reefs that can cut any watercraft. The different islands give the Angels Revenant Chapter different environments to train various combat tactics and harvest the huge amount of resources for the betterment of the Chapter and the Imperium. The tribes of the planet are now more advanced since the return of the “ghost warriors” and fulfilled Hoyan legend and now are solely committed to supporting the Chapter by any means. The inhabitants almost worship their Chapter alongside that of the Emperor and believe that nothing exist but servitude for the Angels and the Imperium.

To fill the ranks of the battle companies which are called Wings, the Chapter holds semi-annual competitions to pick the best out of the populace. Those that complete the test and win the competitions are ritually “sacrificed” and given the honor of returning as a Angel Revenant. Before the selectee is “sacrificed” he must mate with 10 breeding females as to try to pass on the DNA to breed more winning males that will go on to serve in the future.

The people still hold true to some of their old ways by honoring the dead and believing in reincarnation. The Chapter of the Angels Revenant adopted some of locals’ practices and just like other Chapters partaking in rituals when putting a member to rest but believing that they will one day return and fight again. The Apothecaries are held in high respect for they are the ones that carry the gene-seed and supervise the implantation of new Angels. The Angels Revenant revere the passing of gene-seed as being reincarnated into a new Angel, ready to lay waste to the enemies of man.

Reincarnation was the only religious aspect of Hoya as the people view that your spirit returns, and the body is just temporary. Hoyan legend states that if for some reason there is not a newborn ready to receive the reincarnated spirit then that spirit turns into an astral spectre, looking for a host. In order to keep the spiritual balance, the Angels Revenant have a tradition in which after being selected into the 1st WG, you must kill an astral spectre as a rite of passage into the Spectre Guard or the Dokokai as the locals call them.

COMBAT DOCTRINE

The Chapter is comprised of 10 Wings (companies), each with a specific mission. Due to the landscape of their home planet Hoya and to remain true “Angels” the Chapter looks toward the sky as the means of dominating the battlefield. Though they do have many Tactical and Devastator units, they favor assaulting the enemy by coming from above using jump packs, Landspeeders and other aerial assault craft. They favor the heavy weapon platforms on Landspeeders to dart and provide the support of their heavy weapons as well as provide quick transport for infiltrating Scout SQs. They have made a variation of the Storm-raven assault craft called the Spectre and use it aggressively to transport needed land units and provide air to ground support. Scouts are still outfitted for close combat with the rare sniper team.

After the investigation on Hoyan in the earlier part of the Chapter history, they have been researching the Necrons and figu

CHAPTER ORGANIZATION

The Angels Revenant Chapter view the Codex as a gravely important piece of history and adhering to it only in a few cases. The Chapter has renamed their companies calling them Wings (WG) and has restructured their organization in order to rotate their patrols and be able to send a varying size strike force whenever and wherever the Imperium needs them. This organization allows them to patrol and rotate throughout the Ghoul Stars and beyond.

The 1st WG, known as the “Dokokai” or Spectre Guard is named in honor of their parent Chapter the Death Spectres and it houses the veterans and the highest ranking members of each office as well as the Revenantor Supreme (Chapter Master). Members have to kill an astral spectre to gain official acceptance into the First.

The 2nd WG is called the Phantom Wing and is charged with investigating, seeking out and destroying the Necron menace awakening throughout the Imperium. They are permanently assigned to the “Soul of Death” Strike Cruiser. The 3rd WG is in charge of defending Hoya at all times. Marines may rotate tours of duty in the 3rd after campaigning in other WGs.

The 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th WG are all on Strike Cruisers patrolling in various sectors ready to respond at moment’s notice, whether to destroy a target or assist in a rescue they can respond. The 8th and 9th WGs are stationed at other planets Ikarion and Darian and can rotate out with the 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th as they refill their ranks and resupply or train before their next patrol. The 10th retains the honor of training the new recruits before assigning them to another WG. There are 36 “chambers” of training. The 10th is stationed on Hoya. Upon training completion Marines are assigned to the 4th through 9th Wings becoming a Scout.

CHAPTER BELIEFS

The Angels Revenant Chapter call their belief “The One Faith”, where an Angle as total and complete confidence in themselves, unit, Chapter and Emperor. Having total faith in oneself is the biggest defense against the temptations of Chaos, and is what really makes a Revenant Angel devastating. Reincarnation is another aspect of the Chapter’s belief system that stems from the local beliefs and the mutation of the Revenant gene-seed where Angels have flashbacks or recalls of the previous owner of the gene-seed. The AR believes that marines will come back through their gene-seed and serve again.

The Chapter Chaplains are the definition of the One Faith, as some outside the chapter would say they carry the chips the size of Terra on their shoulders. The Judge Chaplain (highest ranking Chaplain) has undergone intense training and researched many articles to know when a Marine’s confidence has been lost before they may even know it.

GENE-SEED

The gene-seed of the Angels Revenant was hails from their parent Chapter the Death Spectres which may come from the First Founding Chapter Raven Guard though this has not been proven. There are two mutations to the gene-seed, one in which the skin of the Angels Revenant turn grayish white, instead of pure albinos like the Death Spectres and the “Flashback” mutation. It is not known why or when it happens but research ad reports have documented that a Marine will all of a sudden have a flashback or recall a memory of the previous owner or owners of the gene seed. It can happen at any moment and the memory varies between celebration or that of the Angel dying. It is mandatory to log the flashbacks in and report them as they have been known to bring back information of an enemy or know possibly what happened to the marine. In many cases Angels will flash back while fighting a certain xenos to a memory of an earlier battle that may have happened many years ago, intensifying their thirst to bring death to that enemy. Research by the Apothecary Cadre is underway to better understand the genes-seed and why the flashbacks happen and at least prevent the multi-personality causing destruction to the suffering Marine.

There are those that have harnessed can controlled the flashbacks. Librarians that have used their mind powers are able to help those control there flashbacks. The Advocator Librarian (highest ranking Librarian) has the ability to harness and recall memories at will to provide possible answers to the Revenant Supreme (Chapter Master) during current conflicts or situations that need counsel.

Origins

Summarization of this section:

Death Spectres arrive at the Hoya.

There is some Chaos uprising and DS beat them up.

Orks show up and DS beat them up.

Necrons are awaken and DS beat them up.

The Captain Eman Modnar like to fight this way.

The new Chapter is founded.

Do you see what I did there? :( There is serious lack of consistency or unity.

Btw, the Necrons are too late for any party until after second half of 41 millenium.

HOMEWORLD

Before the selectee is “sacrificed” he must mate with 10 breeding females as to try to pass on the DNA to breed more winning males that will go on to serve in the future.

- Do you realize the Astartes recruit boys around age of 12?

Hoyan legend states that if for some reason there is not a newborn ready to receive the reincarnated spirit then that spirit turns into an astral spectre, looking for a host.

- This make me wondering: What about other way around? When is body ready and no spirit around? :)

In order to keep the spiritual balance, the Angels Revenant have a tradition in which after being selected into the 1st WG, you must kill an astral spectre as a rite of passage into the Spectre Guard or the Dokokai as the locals call them.

- How do you kill a ghost, though? Don't tell me they have this special soul-cutter sword and must cut the skull-mask of the Astral Spectre. :P

COMBAT DOCTRINE

Due to the landscape of their home planet Hoya...

- Landscape of your Homeworld is largely unimportant to the Chapter combat doctrines. The Astartes are expected to fight in any environment against any enemy.

Though they do have many Tactical and Devastator units, they favor assaulting the enemy by coming from above using jump packs, Landspeeders and other aerial assault craft.

- You know, "hurricanes, massive rain and wind storms" are not best conditions for flight.

CHAPTER ORGANIZATION

The Chapter has renamed their companies calling them Wings (WG) and has restructured their organization in order to rotate their patrols and be able to send a varying size strike force whenever and wherever the Imperium needs them. This organization allows them to patrol and rotate throughout the Ghoul Stars and beyond.

*sigh*

And why do you think the normal codex organisation disallow this?

The 8th and 9th WGs are stationed at other planets Ikarion and Darian

- Why are these stationed there?

CHAPTER BELIEFS

The Angels Revenant Chapter call their belief “The One Faith”, where an Angle as total and complete confidence in themselves, unit, Chapter and Emperor.

Yeah, fear the Angles of Death!!

Having total faith in oneself is the biggest defense against the temptations of Chaos, and is what really makes a Revenant Angel devastating.

- and makes you blind to your own shortfalls and dismissive of ideas/opinions of others. It isn't like the pride leads to fall or something, right?

The Chapter Chaplains are the definition of the One Faith, as some outside the chapter would say they carry the chips the size of Terra on their shoulders.

- Chips?

GENE-SEED

The gene-seed of the Angels Revenant hails from their parent Chapter the Death Spectres which may come from the First Founding Chapter Raven Guard though this has not been proven.

- The Gene-seed of RavenGuard is missing the Belcher's Gland and Mucranoid + several other organs are malfunctioning. Just saying.

Below is my DIY Angels Revenant (basicaly means returned spirit or ghost). I am working on the right "format" for the IA and getting pictures of the symbol and armor design.

Are you aware that Angels Revenant is the name of an official Chapter, albeit one with no fluff?

The origins of the Angels Revenant Chapter start with the planet of Hoya in the Segmentum Ultima.

I find it hard to believe that a Chapter is created for the sake of a single planet.

The Death Spectres were requested by Imperial personnel and dispatched to the planet to squash the civil war

Wait. What civil war?

as well as establish a base so the Imperium could start mining/harvesting operations on the planets vast amounts of resources. Upon arrival the Death Spectres found the main reason of the civil war was due to chaotic cults being established and raging war with the Emperors’ followers.

Is this an Imperial world or isn't it? If it is, why isn't the Imperium already mining it?

With the arrival of the Death Spectres, the tribes of the Hoya saw them as the returned ghost warriors of legend that would unite the planet and lead it into a golden age of prosperity. The Death Spectres quickly dispatched the cultist but were surprised by an Ork army from Bork that invaded.

Wait, what?

After the defeat of the Orks, Sgt Charlo of the Scout SQ found catacombs, containing mysterious metal corpuses.

No he didn't.

After the war with the Necrons the area investigated and found a terrible threat lay hidden in the planet as well as others.

Which was? No, wait, don't answer that. Another threat? On what might as well be the same day? Pick one enemy and forget the others.

So let me make sure I understand the logic. One Captains particular strategy for fighting a battle on one, specific planet was so effective, the High Lords decided that they needed a whole new Chapter to try out this same strategy on planets around the galaxy, so they should promote him? And by that logic, any Captain anywhere who does an exceptional job on a single mission merits the creation of a whole new Chapter as his reward? Foundings do not work that way.

When the 14th Founding was established The Death Spectres and AM assisted Master DeValion in receiving his first installment of marines and equipment.

How did you get through the entire section that is supposed to detail the founding history of your Chapter and not even mention them until the third to last word?

The planet of Hoya is a huge water planet with many islands of various types and sizes.

I thought this was a planet full of resources that the Imperium needed to mine?

The waters are not navigable due to the many obstacles such as hurricanes, massive rain and wind storms, whirlpools and jagged reefs that can cut any watercraft.

So under-water mining is out. That leaves some islands. How many resources could islands possibly have that the Imperium can't get in much, much larger qualities from dedicated mining planets?

The different islands give the Angels Revenant Chapter different environments to train various combat tactics and harvest the huge amount of resources for the betterment of the Chapter and the Imperium.

Astartes are not miners. That is not their job. Why would the Imperium waste the considerable resources required to make a Chapter to do the job when all they need are servitors?

The tribes of the planet are now more advanced since the return of the “ghost warriors” and fulfilled Hoyan legend and now are solely committed to supporting the Chapter by any means. The inhabitants almost worship their Chapter alongside that of the Emperor and believe that nothing exist but servitude for the Angels and the Imperium.

And the Inquisition is okay with this because?

Before the selectee is “sacrificed” he must mate with 10 breeding females as to try to pass on the DNA to breed more winning males that will go on to serve in the future.

On the one hand, the Liber is not the place to share your sexual fantasies. No, not even if you're playing Slaanesh.

On the other hand, we must not allow a mine shaft gap.

COMBAT DOCTRINE

The Chapter is comprised of 10 Wings (companies), each with a specific mission. Due to the landscape of their home planet Hoya and to remain true “Angels” the Chapter looks toward the sky as the means of dominating the battlefield.

I sense that this is just an excuse to use the Blood Angels Codex so you can buy a Stormraven.

They have made a variation of the Storm-raven assault craft called the Spectre and use it aggressively to transport needed land units and provide air to ground support.

Yee-up.

The Angels Revenant Chapter view the Codex as a gravely important piece of history

Then why don't they follow it?

The Chapter [. . .] has restructured their organization in order to rotate their patrols and be able to send a varying size strike force whenever and wherever the Imperium needs them.

If the Ultramarines and their successors can do this without breaking the Codex, why can't you?

Revenantor

One who revenants?

The 2nd WG is called the Phantom Wing and is charged with investigating, seeking out and destroying the Necron menace awakening throughout the Imperium.

Really. 100 Astartes versus an entire alien race.

The gene-seed of the Angels Revenant was hails from their parent Chapter the Death Spectres which may come from the First Founding Chapter Raven Guard though this has not been proven. There are two mutations to the gene-seed...

...which, despite being distinctive, are completely unhelpful in determining the origin.

That's kind of like saying,

The gene-seed of the Knights of Blood is unknown, but may come from the First Founding Chapter Blood Angels though this has not been proven. They suffer from the Red Thirst and Black Rage.

“Control the Skies… Control the War”, “Death is only a pause, for we shall return”

I don't see either of those being called out on the charge.

Thank you both for the review. To answer some questions.

For Plague Angel:

1) I did know the Angels Revenant were a GW Chapter with no fluff. It is why I chosed them. I liked the whole meaning of Revenant and ghost or returned spirits.

2) I see where I need to clean things up. I will take out the Necron thing and clean up some of the questions you put down.

3) The whole point of the"mating" sentence was put in there to increase the number of potential recruits in the future. Bigger numbers, better odds of having physicaly superior canidates.

4) I had the idea of a "flying Razorback" a long time ago. GW made a flying Landraider. I have been trying to mess around with an "All flight" kinda of chapter, like WS and bikes and I know they have other units.

5) Well in all of the Death Spectres fluff, I have always seen where it says gene-seed uknown

For Nightrawen II:

1) I didn't think of if a body is ready but no soul. I will work this in.

2) I researched the Astral Spectre and found that they can be killed as sometimes they possess a body or they are somewhat corpreal. I will think about this and put it in the review. I do not need a specail weapon. Maybe only Libs can do this?

3) I am going to drop some of the bad excuses on the Homeworld section and just say that the Chapter prefers to fly then to take tanks or have guys walk all over the place.

4) In the Codex you have the Reserve COs. I wanted more of once you are assigned to a CO you stay with it until you are chosen to the 1st or 2nd Wing as a honor.

5) As for the "One Faith", I was going for just that supreme confidence will be the foundation, if that is faulty then it leads to doubt and into hate. I never thought about the other side, this could make the Chapter only want to work either by themselves or only with Marines.

Again thanks for the comments. It made sense to me even after I read it three times. I will repost with the changes.
