Way1and
Sorry if we've been here before. the Search button doesn't like me tonight. Picked up a pin vice at the store but there weren't any separate bits on the rack and it didn't come with any. What sizes do you commonly use on your gun barrels? Can I pick them up at the hardware store or do I need to find another hobby store? Khestra the Unbeheld
For bolters, I use #74, which is .023" diameter. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221763-pin-vice-drill-bits/#findComment-2649405 Share on other sites
DV8
Check out your local hardware store in the tools section. Dremel sells a wonderful drill bit set that has all the bits you should need for drilling most of your models. The smallest is the perfect size for the bolter barrel ports, and the largest is perfect for space marine bike exhausts, just to give you a range. Bonus is that you get an excellent bit holder that ensures you won't lose your drill bits. And it's relatively inexpensive too! The set runs about $6 CDN at Home Depot here. And the bits have proved far stronger than anything a GW/P3/Army Painter pin vise will come with.
