darkwrath Posted February 8, 2011 Share Posted February 8, 2011 I've been struggling recently to get my marines painted up, so i thought the LPC was a perfect opportunity to start painting my Fire Hammers again. I've pledged two ten man tactical squads and a HQ choice just to kick start the whole process. so far the wips are really rough, just a basecoat of mechrite red on about 11 guys (I should really split them into proper units) but on the upside, my HQ choice, Tyberos "The Red Wake" arrived the other day. very shiny. and I love his ChainLightningFistClaw...things. sorry about the rough pics, but instead of doing a bit more painting and taking some decent pics , I spent this evening watching the SuperBowl I recorded last night. :P http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq132/DarkWrath_photos/P1010104.jpg http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq132/DarkWrath_photos/P1010105.jpg just spotted some HORRENDOUS mold lines on some of these guys so that'll have to be fixed too. darkwrath Posted February 9, 2011 Author Share Posted February 9, 2011 Thanks bud! did some more last night, got 18 guys undercoated now. 14 of those have had a baal red wash, 3 of those have had a devlan mud wash in the joints of the armour and 1 solitary guy has had a highlight of blood red (need to get some P3 Khador red as it'll cover better.) same recipe as Ravendove's Sons of Orar. guy below is obviously the highlighted one, its a touch rough, i need to thin the paint more and just do more layers. http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq132/DarkWrath_photos/P1010001.jpg gonna do a couple more highlighted guys tonight before i get on with some work.
