BrotherMoses
Spoilers are from the first 3 Horus Heresy books. I have recently been thinking about the Horus Heresy series and the roles of the main characters when it comes to the final battle. Then I realized that the only member of the mournival that is completely given over to chaos is.... Abaddon. Please let me explain: Horus himself is said to have realized the error of his deads just before the Emperor granted him the mercy of being obliterated. This leaves us with the mournival. 1. Loken. Loyal and dead 2. Torgaddon. Loyal and dead 3. Abaddon. Undisputed Lord of the Black Legion and leader of the Black Crusades. 4. Horus Aximand. "Little Horus" Little Horus is the weak link. While we know that he has sided with Horus, we also know that he seemed hesitant about it. His heart and passion has yet to surrender to his primarch's cause. This has made me think. I now have my own belief about how the shields went down on Horus' ship for that final battle. Little Horus. I am of the belief that Little Horus, after witnessing the horrors unleashed on Terra will come to his senses. I firmly believe that it was him that lowered the shields to allow the Emperor to teleport aboard with Sanguinius and Rogal Dorn. I firmly believe that Little Horus will return to the Emperor's bosom and that we may see one of these two fates for him before the end, if not both... 1. Little Horus lowers the shields allowing the Emperor et al to enter Horus' ship for "The final battle". 2. Aximand voices his dissenting opinion to Horus. Horus shreds his former friend with a maniacal cry of glee. The Emperor now knows that Horus is beyond redemption. Thoughts? O, and will someone please post this in the background section on Warseer. I would, but I'm not allowed there anymore B) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221955-predictions-of-the-horus-heresy-series/ Share on other sites
Pavement Artist
Loken is also an anomaly aswell. He isn't dead. This has been reiterated by Dan Abnett and A-D-B on this very forum. BrotherMoses
So it has been said, but even if he is alive I highly doubt he's suddenly going to turn to chaos. We'll have to see what role he may play. SDarmy
I agree. Lil' Horus hasn't gone over yet and is fundamental in lowering the shields. Loken might be there too. But its Abaddon that kills Lil' Horus. hummus
little hporus is to obvious it would be cool if it turned out to be someone from the alpha legion maybe pech or aplharius masquarading as a son of horus marine Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221955-predictions-of-the-horus-heresy-series/#findComment-2652202 Share on other sites
Magic Dragon
I tend to think that the Alpha Legion will be involved in Horus' downfall also. After all this could be part of the "last" undoing what the "first" has done. Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
banned from warseer? I knew there was a reason i liked you. and yea, Little Horus is the weak link. despite the many beliefs of the Alpha Legion doing the deed, i believe L.H. will be the key. PorridgeMeister
Lil' Ho's conscience will kick in eventually in some form or another so it is possible that he might lower the shields... :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221955-predictions-of-the-horus-heresy-series/#findComment-2653060 Share on other sites

Valkyrion
I can imagine a Ghost of Christmas Past scenario really, where Loken and Tarvitz give Little Horus the willies so he comes to his senses. I'm reasonably sure that Tarvitz, Loken and Rylanor will play a few small but important cameos before it all ends. Despite all the odds they still love the Emperor and good triumphs over evil with last minute reconciliations from their enemies etc etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221955-predictions-of-the-horus-heresy-series/#findComment-2654044 Share on other sites

That is not nearly Grimdark enough; redemption should have nothing to do with the Battle of Terra. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221955-predictions-of-the-horus-heresy-series/#findComment-2654107 Share on other sites
Unlucky Lad
I don't think Torgaddon is dead too. In Horus Heresy Collected Vision, there is a gallery with cards from the Sabertooth card game. I won't spoil (that is, more than that^^), but there is a Torgaddon card for the Assault of Terra expansion that is shown in this gallery. (it's my first post here and english is not my native language, so please excuse my errors) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/221955-predictions-of-the-horus-heresy-series/#findComment-2654769 Share on other sites

(it's my first post here and english is not my native language, so please excuse my errors) That is one of many errors in editing for that book. there are several pictures mislabeled. Torgaddon's head was taken by Lil Horus. He is Deader then dead. This is coming for a guy who think Mhotep lives on...... Unlucky Lad
Even in the card gallery? I don't remember any mention of lil' Horus in HH:CV but I read it about one year ago. Then, if all the Mournival had survived Istvaan III (or V?), it will be kinda odd (but Loken and Lil'Horus Vs Torgaddon and Abaddon would be fun...) Razhbad
I know of the picture of Torgaddon you speak of and Loken sees that very image in a vision. But Torgaddon is most certainly dead, after all Astartes cannot survive without their heads now. Sons of Horus
I still think Horus lowers the shields himself as a challenge to the emperor. Jim Shady
The idea of Little Horus lowering the shields is something that's been said for awhile. After Istavaan it's said that he carried himself more like a robot than as astartes due to killing Tarik and seeing Abaddon leave Loken for dead. I think that he knew what they were doing was wrong but was torn between the loyalty of his legion and his primarch and the loyalty to the Emperor and the Imperium. nightlordsrock3564
I still think Horus lowers the shields himself as a challenge to the emperor. Yeah, he's like "Bring it on father. Candleshoes
I still think Horus lowers the shields himself as a challenge to the emperor. The more ideas get thrown around and the more theories that do get passed, we forget something. With the amount of buildup and anticipation for the ultimate climactic moment for the greatest myth ever told by Games Workshop, it simply cannot be controlled by anyone other than the primarch Horus himself (for whatever his reasons may be). Anything or anyone else would simply be a disappointment, rather, a gag and cop-out. The fall of Horus doesn't need clever hooks, it simply is the hook.
